Throughout his life Mr. Zipkin was driven by creativity, ability to see potential and a belief in hard work. His first business produced decorated gifts and tableware and originated the studio card with cartoons by William Steig and Herb Gardner, with whom he created the character.

Later, he developed the Mahopac Farm, Playhouse and Museum, which appeared in the movie on an old Borden dairy farm site, with a country store, petting zoo, theater, and Americana museum displaying antique cars, musical machines, carousel animals and movie memorabilia. a prop rental business, supplied items for commercials, print ads and movies including and as well as live animals for television, such as a cow fo Night with Conan A antique store in Ossining, sold unusual and unique items from the collection. Mr. Zipkin is survived by Florence, his wife of 66 years, children Adam, Baba, Leif, Barney and Tully, and eight grandchildren. Preceded in death by his twin, Herbert Zipkin, he was the son of Esther Gentle and stepson of the painter Abraham Rattner.

Edwardsanddowdle.com YUHA Norma Castaldo a long time resident of Yonkers, died peacefully on March 9, 2016. She was 85. Norma was born on May 25, 1930 to the late Vinico and Mary Pierdiluca.

She worked fo Eastchester Savings Bank fo many years. On December 28, 1965, she married the love of her life Domenick Castaldo, who passed away on April 18, 1990. Norma is survived by her sister Mary Szklany (Robert), nieces and nephews, Bobby, Karin, Chris, Michael, Bobby, Lisa, Janice and Joyce and 14 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Domenick and her brothers Nate and Aldo Pierdiluca. Family and friends will celebrate life at Yannantuono Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.

After graduating from high school and working on Wall Street, she moved to Peekskill in 1955 as the bride of Peter Voonasis, who predeceased her in 1992.

A fter his death, she lived in Delray Beach, FL for a number of years before returning back to Peekskill to be closer to her family. Gloria loved reading, crosswords puzzles, music, and the theater. She also was an avid poker and gin rummy player and was known to visit the casino from time to time. She also loved traveling with her family and many friends. Gloria is survived by her son Nicholas (Lesley) Voonasis of Trumbull, CT; and her 2 granddaughters, Christina and Elena.

She is also survived by her brother, Wallace (Phyllis) Voonasis; sister- in-law, Freda Voonasis, brother- in-law, Richard Pantell; and many nieces nephews. Gloria always felt that the Hudson River was one of the most scenic areas in the world, and it brought her immense oy to sit and admire its beauty. Curry Funeral Home, Inc. 313 N. James Peekskill 914-737-0083 VOONASIS GLORIA Christine Frelat, 65, of Larchmont NY, passed away on February 21, 2016. Christine was born Apr. 30, 1950, in Paris, France where she spent her childhood and early adulthood.

She earned he Masters in Law at the de Paris X. Christine emigrated to New ork in 1986 and has lived in the Larchmont area since. She worked most recently as an administrative assistant at the American Red Cross and the Church of St. Vincent de Paul in New York and was an active member of the St. Augustine congregation.

She is survived by her daughte Caroline and her husband James of Boston, MA; he mother, Paulette Toullec of Paris, France; her brothers Jean-Yves Toullec, his wife Isabelle Toullec of Hong Kong, China, and Alain Toullec of Val de Reuil, France; her nephews Pierre Toullec and Toullec of France; and her niece Anne-Laure Toullec of France. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon, on Saturday March 19 at the St Augustine Church, 18 Cherry Avenue, Larchmont, NY. Burial will take place in France in a private ceremony. FRELAT, CHRISTINE Michael Biglow, 75, of Harveys Lake, former resident of Cortlandt Manor, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday March 10, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving wife. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Charles S. and Molly Kaufman Biglow. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Cedarhurst, NY and Baruch College. Michael had worked for 18 years for the New ork Public Library as a program analyst, and retired as a manage from Broadview Network, Queens, NY.

He also served in the Army National Guard, and volunteered for the Meals-on-Wheels Program in New York and Pennsylvania. Michael enjoyed playing bridge with his friends and spending time with his wife of 32 years, Flora Franconi. He is survived by his loving daughters, Corey Biglow, Peekskill, NY and Jamie Biglow, Washington, D.C. He was also a loving brother to his sister Arline Isaacs, Port Washington, NY, uncle to Joel Isaacs, New York, NY and Susan Edelblum, Sands Point, and her children Chad, Molly and Zoe. The second of nine children born to Bernard and Therese Kramer, Joe was born Aug. 6, 1954 and raised in Palisades, NY. The Tappan Zee H.S. alum graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and was executive chef in New York, New Hampshire and New Mexico.

Joe went back to school to combine his love of golf and hospitality, earning a degree from New Mexico State in professional golf management. Joe always stressed the importance of en having everything in its place. He was American Culinary Foundation Chef of the Year fo Southwest New Mexico and West Texas in 1995. A born teacher, he delighted in sampling meals he taught his siblings to make, gushing over the results with a generous could not have made that In 1997, Joe was inside the ropes for the PGA Championship at Winged Foot Golf Club, following Tiger Woods in a daily Journal News column called the one of his most cherished memories. His family will miss his generous heart.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, and is survived by his siblings: Anne Kramer-McGinn of Binghamton, New York; Mary T. Kramer of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Edward Kramer of Manchester, New Hampshire; Christine Foster of Dallas, Texas; Elizabeth Quirk of La Mesa, New Mexico; Kramer of Truth Consequences, New Mexico; Pete Kramer of Westwood, New Jersey; and John Kramer of Arlington, irginia.
