'Cat-Tor game heads schedule The Lake Charles Wildcats, still smarting from a defeat from District 2-AAA LaGrange, ttffl meet the SuTphw Tors, ao- other 2-AAA team, in this week's headliner in Southwest Louisiana prep football. The game will also be an important one to the Tors, who wit! be tfytng to get ontracked after suffering two consecutive losses. District action will be a little heavier this week as teams begin playing the ones that count. After only three weeks of play, there are only a dozen teams left with undefeated, on- tied records in the 10-district Southwest area, and some of those records win probably be marred this weekend. Sulphur, highly touted before the season began, won its opener against Jennings but has since fallen to a couple of Texas teams, Orange and Nederland.

Lake Charles has beaten Church Point and DeRidder and lost to LaGrange. The game will be in Sulphur. Other games involving District 2-AAA members include De La Salle of New Orleans at New Iberia, NorthsJde of Lafayette at Leesvifle, West Lake at Opelousas, and Lee of Baton Rouge at Lafayette. One district game is on tap in District 4-AA, with winless Church Point hosting Eunice, a team that sports a 14-1 slate. Other games win find Oakdate still in quest of its first victory as it hosts Btmkle and Jennings visiting DeRidder.

Two district tussles are scheduled in District 4-A, with Kinder at home against Marion and DeQulncy traveling to Vhv ton in district openers for all four teams. Welsh hosts Iota and Lake Arthur moves to Mamou Friday. District 3-B, with the district chase well underway, has four more tilts set for this weekend. District favorite Oberlin plays at Sam Houston, and two teams considered "dark Goretti and Merryville, meet to Merryville. South Cameron, another district powerhouse, entertains the weaker Iowa YeJlow Jackets while Elton will be at Hack- berry to determine the district cellar team.

In District 3-AA, winless Nat- chttoches meets unpredictable Tioga. Marksville is at Menard and PtneviHe is at Oak Grove. Perhaps the game of the week will be in New Iberia Thursday night, when two of the top Class AA teams in the state, Catholic and Crowley, clash In a District 5-AA game. com COnflrAKf KMefcr Wtsn 3 CXrfhur 3 0 2 1 LorWry MgMA vpffTon i I tP 0V0yW) 'o t.ow too tt 74 1 2 0 467 S3 at vmton, rlon ot Klndtr, Idta of welsh, Arthur ot Mamou. Steve Spurrier tossed two touchdown passes to lead the Florida attack which boosted the Gators' record to 2-0 and saddled the Maroons with their second 1966 defeat and their eighth straight loss. The Gators intercepted three straight passes thrown by Mississippi State quarterback Don Saget, and turned them all into touchdowns in Florida's league opener played before a record crowd of 49,333.
