51, former peace officer of Sumner County for many year, died of a elf-inflicted rifle shot tonight at his horn in South Tunnel, accord Ing to Coroner L. Guild. Keen, who lived at the South Tunnel home with three daughter. was alon with one of th daughters about o'clock while the other two were visiting a neighbor. Guild said, when he called the daughter Into his room and handed her note which he asked to be deliv ered immediately to her sister.

Ths note, Guild said, Informed the girls that Keen's body would be found In his barn. Hs had been hot through the head with a .23 caliber bullet, the charge entering directly under his chin and ranging upward. Keen at one time had served a a driver for the fire department here in the days when ths fire trucks were drawn by horse. later became a constable, work house keeper for 15 yesrs, and eventually served two terms as sheriff. He retired from public service several years ago and had suffered 111 health for some time.
