The News-Journal Papers Friday, Nov. 26, 1982 1st EDITION Obituaries Gregory 'Wayne' White Services for Gregory "Wayne" White, 23, of 101 Rose Lane, Rosegate, will be held at 1 this afternoon at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 23rd and Washington streets, where friends may call at 10 a.m. Mr. White was killed Nov. 20 when the car in which he was a passenger collided head-on with another car on South Market Street.

At the time of his death, he was employed as a body and fender man at White's Auto Body Shop, which is owned by his father, on South Buttonwood Street in Wilmington. He was a 1978 graduate of De La Warr High School, where he played on the football, basketball and track teams. He was a member of the Rosegate Civic Association. He is survived by his parents, Mary and Clarence White; a sister, Monica L. McCabe, 89, of R.D. 1, was dead on arrival at Beebe Hospital Tuesday of heart failure. Mrs. McCabe was a selfemployed dress maker in the Dagsboro area many years ago. Her husband, William R.

McCabe died in 1962. She is survived by a son, William R. McCabe Jr. of Dagsboro; two daughters, Gertrude C. Kichler of Albion, and Alma Mae Mayne of Terra Verde, a brother, Raymond E.

Wharton, 100, died of cancer Thursday at the Methodist Country House, 4830 Kennett Pike, Greenville, where she had lived for the past 18 years. Mrs. Wharton's husband, Dabney died in 1943. She is survived by a daughter, Virginia W. Mackey of West Chester, Pa.

Arrangements by CONGO FUNERAL' HOME, 201 N. Gray Del. Elsie Mann Elsie Mann, 94, formerly of Rock Hall, died of natural causes Wednesday in the Methodist Country House, 4830 Kennett Pike, where she had lived for the past 20 years. Mrs. Mann was a member of St.

Paul's Protestant Episcopal Church in Chestertown, and was a member of the Chestertown Garden Club. Mrs. Mann's husband, Randolph, died in 1948. She is survived by son, R.J. Guastavino of Rock Hall; a daughter, Mrs.

Frank Gulden Jr. of Island, N.Y.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. Graveside services will be this afternoon at 1:30 in St. Paul's Cemetery near Chestertown. Michael Pretko Services for Michael Pretko, 34, of 2704 Capitol Trail, Newark, will be Saturday morning at 11 at the William J.

Warwick Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, where friends may call this evening. He died early Tuesday morning of carbon monoxide poisoning after falling asleep in his car, according to Newark police. Mr. Pretko was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 475.

He worked as an electrician's helper with a private electric contractor in Newark. An Army veteran, he worked in Army intelligence in Korea. He is survived by his parents, Albert A. and Margaret H. Pretko Newark; two brothers, Albert J.

of Wilmington and James Edward "Ed" Pretko of Newark; and a sister, Carolyn A. Kincaid, also of Newark. Burial will be in Newark Methodist Cemetery. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 475, Ladies Auxiliary, Barksdale Road, Newark, 19711. Louis R.

Longo Louis R. Longo, 77, of Wilmington, died of cancer Thursday at the Memorial Division. Mr. Longo retired in 1979 after working 55 years as a projectionist at a number of local theaters. He was a member of Local 473 of the International Brotherhood of Theater Projectionists and Stagehands.

He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Club. His wife, Louise A. Greggo Longo, died last year. He is survived by two sons, Dr.

Louis A. of Liftwood and James J. of Carrcroft; a daughter, Joanne M. Mayer of Newark; two sisters, Olivia Longo and Louise dilenno, both of Wilmington, and ten grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday morning at 9:30 in St.

Mr. Poole was found shot to death along the north side of the Chesapeake Delaware Canal near Reedy Point Bridge Wednesday afternoon, an apparent suicide, according to state police. Mr. Poole had worked for 10 years as a plumber for Schlosser Plumbing and Heating in Newark. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Outten, 71, of Williamsville, near Selbyville, died of cancer Wednesday in Peninsula General Hospital in Salisbury.
