STATISTICS: the win column for the first time this year last night when they piled up 33 points in the first half, then coasted home free for a 52-13 victory over an outclassed and outmanned Fresno State eleven before 4000 frozen fans in windswept Gilmore Stadium. Coach Jordan Olivar'3 only regret after the game was that Loyola doesn't play Fresno State any more this year. 'o Defense Coach Pix Pierson's Bulldogs, badly mauled the previous Week by Santa Clara, 53-0, offered little in the way of an offense and were lacking even more when it came to defensive tactics.

The lads from Playa Del Key demonstrated equal efficiency in the, air and on the ground, scoring on three passes and setting tip another via the sky and smashing to five on the ground. Longest pay dirt gallop of the evening was a 46-yard sprint off right tackle by Halfback Jack, Dwyer in the second quarter. High point honors were bagged by Loping Lester Coniglio who plunged over from the 1 in the third quarter and added another in the fourth when he took a lateral from End Don Berberet and ambled over. The latter play, a pass from Quarterback Ray Aguirre to ijeroeret to uonigno, netted 28 yards. Teedee Makers Loyola's other touchdown makers were Fullback Hal David, on a 2-yard plunge; Halfback Bill English on a 10-yard jaunt at right guard; End Tom Evans on a 9-yard pass from Quarterback Don Klosterman; End Don Klink-hammer on a 10-yard aerial from Aguirre and Fullback Mike Nolan on a yard and one-half smash in tViA last, rmartpr.

The Bulldogs tallied their second touchdown with 15 seconds' remaining in the game when Quarterback Bill Montgomery hit Halfback Vince Palmo with a scoring pass good for 63 yards. Thier first score- also came throuch the air. a 29-vard heave from Quarterback Tom Amey to End Chuck Tdy in the first. period. The hard-hocking Sheiks had pushed the Romans all over the lot in the final half, but an untimely succession of fumbles, penalties and (occasionally) Roman stoutheartedness repulsed the Hol-wood threats, Sudden Break Then with dramatic suddenness, and on a break, the Sheiks crossed the goal. On the long end of a 6-0 count, the Romans attempted a flat pass deep in their own territory with just six minutes of play remaining.
