POCATELLO, IDAHO, SUNDAY, MARCH 14, W76 IDAHO STATE JOURNAL-SECTION PAGE 5 71 POCATELLO, IDAHO, SUNDAY, MARCH 14, W76 IDAHO STATE JOURNAL-SECTION if Cadets Nominate Six ISU Coeds in Military Ball Queen Contest The annual Idaho State University Military Ball sponsored by the ISU" Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTO, will be held March 27 at the Pocatello Country Club. The event will include a social hour starling at 6:30 p.m., a banquet at 7 p.m. and the dance at 9 p.m. The public is invited to the dance without charge. Attendance at the banquet is by invitation only Dress uniforms are suggested but are not mandatory.

The ba'll will feature the selection of a queen from six candidates. All are ISU students. Leann Alftin, Jerome, is a freshman majoring in government. She was graduated tenth in her class from Jerome High School where she was active in the National Honor Society, was secretary of her class" and president of the varsity choir. At ISU she has been on the dormitory council and Inter- residence Hall Program Board.

She is a member of the ISU Scotch Guard and is active in intramural sports. She is being sponsored for queen by the Alpha team of the ISU cadet detachment. Martha E. Hesson, Idaho Falls, is a junior majoring in medical technology. She was graduated in the top five per cent of her class at Plum High Menu Told For Reunion In Utah City Former Pocatellan Ken Hackrneister, who is instrumental in plans for a reunion for former residents now living in the Salt Lake City, Utah, area, has sent the menu planned for the April 2 event.

Hackmeister said the reunion is slated in the Three Seasons Room of the Salt Lake Hilton. The social hour will begin at 6:30 p.m. Dancing to the music of Paul VanDam's "Raintree" will be from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are $30 a couple or $15 a person.

The menu will include baron of beef, roast turkey, potato, vegetable, green salad, marinated bean salad, macaroni salad, fruit salad, relish tray, roll and butter, assorted tarts and beverages. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania before transferring to ISU.

She is active in Chimes, a junior women's honorary service organization. She is also a member of the Scotch Guard. She -enjoys swimming and dog training and is looking forward to being commissioned from the ISU ROTC program. Her candidacy is being sponsored by the team of the ISU cadet detachment. Jo A.

Hillegas, Pocatello, is a freshman majoring in accounting. She is originally from Everly, Iowa, where she was valedictorian of her class at Everly High School. She was also active in the National Honor Society and was student council president. At ISU she is a member of Scotch Guard and holds a four-year Army ROTC scholarship. She is being sponsored by the team of the cadet detachment.

Cindy M. Lucas, Payette, is a freshman majoring in pre- veterinary medicine. In high school she was active in the YMCA youth legislature and attended Girls State. She was a Future Homemakers of America state officer and in 1975 was chosen the outstanding "Homemaker of Idaho." She was also first runner-up in the Miss Payeite County pageant. At ISU she has been active in the LDS Church and is to appear in the church-sponsored Bicentennial play, "Melt Down My Pewter." She also works part-time for Saga Food.

She is being sponsored by the ISU Bengal Rifles. Cecilia K. Oatney, Donnelly, is a sophomore majoring in accounting. She was graduated from McCall-Donnelly High School as salutatorian and was active in Choir, Pep Club, Girls Club and the National Honor Society. She was also student- body secretary.

Since attending ISU, she has been on the dean's list regularly, is a member of Phi Chi Theta, a national women's business sorority, and is a member of the Scotch Guard, She is being sponsored by the ISU Rangers and the team of the cadet detachment. Tammy J. Phillips, Pocatello, is a freshman majoring in a a i Although her family, lives in Pot'atello now, she was reared in western Pennsvlvania. At ISU she has been involved in Concert Choir and Scotch Guard. She says she is interested in the specific problems of providing Idaho children with a good education.

She enjoys numerous types of recreation, including snow and water skiing, hiking, camping, tennis and racquet ball. She is being sponsored by the Scotch Guard.
