Mrs. Michael J. Callahan, commissioner, presided. Mrs.

Callahan announced the appointment of Mrs. F. A. Wardenburg chairman of the finance committee. Mrs.

J. Kennard Bailey of the training and program committee, stressed the need of continuing the emphasis of activities which will meet a need during the present emergency. The public relations committee reported a display in the children's room of the Public Library, and also announced three more broadcasts of the "Cavalcade of America" program sponsored by this council from 7:30 to 8 p. over WDEL for the next three Saturday nights. April meetings of the Leaders' Association and the council will be held jointly on April 29 at Girl Scout headquarters in the form of a supper meeting.

Over 100 scouts and adults attended a garden meeting at the headquarters on March 11. The speakers were Mrs. Mary V. Gambeau from the Delaware Power and Light Company, who spoke about canning, and Mrs. William S.

Dutton on victory gardens. Mrs. Hood Worthington told of investing 11. Girl Scouts into the troop at the Nemours Foundation. The council discussed ways and means of helping in salvage collection.
