Three families are living in the development, which was opened in February, and it is expected that five more will be there by May 15. I W. Mr. Ricards" plans for the section-include building of a swimming pool, and complete landscape work to enhance the'natural beauty of the area. One of Wilmington's best developing residential sections, Westmoreland, contains 14 good-sized, dignified homes, and plans are being made for five more to be built soon, according to Marvel and Shelnutt, exclusive agents for the development. located between Wawaset Park and Westover Hills, and adjacent tne Wilmington Country Club, Westmoreland is in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood. Streets Paved The streets have been paved with hard macadam surfaces.

Underground lighting has been installed. Sidewalks, gutters, and curbs also are provided. Attractive landscape work has been done, and surrounding the development are features which add to its rich atmosphere. A demonstration home will be open in Westmoreland today and tomorrow to give visitors thorough insight into the types of homes being built thre. The demonstration house has a stone exterior, contains four bedrooms, two baths, a maid's room, and library, and is equipped with a butler's pantry and two-car garage.

The living room, which is to the left of a large entrance hallway, contains a fireplace, and has windows on three sides. Doors open from this room to an open porch at the side of the house. The dining room Is roomy and pleasant. The kitchen contains the most modern equipment, including a monel metal sink and large well-built cabinet. Bedrooms and baths are done in extremely good taste.

Library Provided The library is finished in knotty pine, and, when furnished, will provide a comfortable place where one may have privacy and quiet. Floors throughout the house are of random-width hardwood. Decorations and trim are in excellent taste. Another home In the neighborhood, now nearing completion and sold, is of whitewashed brick. Done a thoroughly colonial manner, it shows the same quiet charm as its neighboring buildings.

Most of the homes in the development have been constructed by A. rortunato. only for favorable weather to continue with the road-building program and landscaping. Sewers are installed throughout a large portion of the development. Swimming Pool Planned The Delaire tract comprises 61 acres of land.

rolling down to the very edge of the river from the pike. A stream runs through the tract, pooling in an abandoned rock quarry which Mr. Ricards plans to make into a swimming pool. Homes are now being built along the top of the hill, and later units will be put up along the stream, and on the sloping ground nearer the river. Delaire commands an imposing view, not only of the Delaware River but of the beautiful surrounding hills.

Its expansive natural qualities will be enhanced when landscaping is completed, and the houses which are being built there fit well In their setting. Mr. Ricards has an office at 34 West Main Street, Newark, as well as one in the DuPont Building. The Bio-Chemical Research Foundation for cancer research is to move to Newark, and Mr. Ricards has been asked to aid with placing the personnel of this plant in comfortable homes in ttie Newark area.
