Brooks Studio FACULTY AT TOWER HILL ENJOY VARIED VACATIONS Members of the faculty of Tower Hill School are enjoying novel and varied vacations this is season. Mrs.

Ellen T. Baldwin has opened her summer project. Camp Baldy, at East Edington, Me. She athletic director at Tower Hill and several members of the faculty are serving as counsellors at the camp. Among them are Mr.

William B. Chadwick and Dr. Peyton Cunningham of the science department. Madame Berthe Malecot, teacher of French and dancing at the school, is a counsellor at Camp Ogontz, Lisbon, N. H.

Several of the faculty are continuing their more serious educational work. Mrs. Cecil M. Buckles of the seventh grade at Tower Hill, is teaching at the Columbia Demonstration School at New York City. Miss Edna Collins of the fourth grade faculty and Miss Charlotte Pierce, a teacher in the first grade, are teaching at Emory University in Georgia.

Mr. John H. Cooper of the fifth grade is al member of the summer faculty of the University High School in Madison, Wis. Miss Eleanor Potter of the sixth grade faculty is directing a play school in this city. Mr.

Ronald L. Currie is with the Robin Hood Players in Arden. A number are on extended trips through the country and also visiting their families at distant points. Miss Polly Bryan of the English department is visiting in East Gloucester, Mass. Miss Helen B.

DeLong is visiting in the New England States. Miss Alma Dunbar, a third grade teacher, is visiting her family in Indiana. Miss Mabel Judge of the Latin department is visiting in West Roxbury, Miss is Marjorie Sammond is spending the summer in Florida and Mrs. Marjorie Davidson Sharp, director of the lower school, is spending the summer in West Reading, Conn. Miss Helen Winslow, head of the kindergarten department of the school, is in Bethel, Conn.

ALBERT CAULK Miss Margaret Pritchard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Pritchard of Philadelphia, Mr. Albert Caulk, son of Mr. and Mrs.

George Caulk of St. Michaels, were married Wednesday in Epworth Methodist Church. The Rev. C. N.

Jones officiated. The couple was unattended. An informal reception followed the ceremony. After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and upper New York state, Mr. and Mrs.

Brian, son of Mr. ple FIVE Scouts Attend Camp In Canby Park Outdoor Exploration Being Directed By William Lloyd The Girl Scouts Day Camp at Canby Park, which opened Monday morning, will continue through Thursday. There are three units composed of different age groups. Special activities to date have been the learning of folk songs. Mr.

Marshall Alexander explained the making of dolls at a recent meeting. At the end of his talk he gave a demonstration of and novelties which he marionettes. Mr. William Lloyd is in charge of the outdoor exploration and Mrs. Charles Mendinhall is camp director.

Ladies A. B. W. Class Attend Luncheon The monthly business and social meeting of the Ladies' A. B.

W. Class of Brack-Ex Methodist Sunday School was held Thursday in the church social hall with Mrs. Edward Todd, president, in charge. Devotions were led by Mrs. Samuel G.

Morris and plans for a meeting for sewing and a luncheon Thursday in the church hall were outlined. Business and financial activities have been discontinued for the summer months. The hostesses for the social hour were Mrs. W. O.

Albers, Mrs. Claude E. Stephenson, Mrs. Freda Dowell, and Mrs. G.

C. Shortess. The next meeting will be a social gathering on Thursday, Aug. 1, at the church and the hostesses will be Mrs. William C.

Lang, Mrs. Alfred B. Moore, Mrs. George Adams, and Mrs. John Collison.

Choir to Hold Outing At Maryland Beach Mr. and Mrs. James Cullen, North Woodward Avenue, Brookland Terrace, will entertain members of the choir of Brack-Ex Methodist Church, their families, and friends at their summer home at Hack's Point Beach, on the Bohemia River, this afternoon and evening. The occasion will be the annual outing and picnic of the choir and a program games, sports, bathing, music, and a picnic supper will be enjoyed. A group of about 40 persons is expected to attend.

Cars will leave the church at 1:30 o'clock. The menu committee for the supper comprises Mrs. Mary H. Reuss, Mrs. Margaret R.

Sneath, and Mrs. M. Viola Manuel. Assistants Named For Food Project Miss Anne Byam, director of the summer food committee for the Wilmington Junior League, has announced her assistants for the distribution next Thursday from 1:30 to 2 o'clock at Old Swedes Parish House. They will be Miss Marion Miller, Miss Isabelle J.

Speakman, and Mrs. W. C. Appleton. More than 30 families will be given fresh vegetables.

The first distribution took place this week with Mrs. James Canby Dillon II, Mrs. John Bancroft III, and Miss Marion Miller assisting Miss Byam. Plans are being made for distribution of food on six consecutive Thursdays. Outing on Thursday For Rockford Women The Rockford Neighborhood Association will hold its annual outing on Thursday at Atlantic City.

Staff Sergt. and Mrs. Morris Baron of Fort DuPont are receiving congratulations on the birth of a daughter this week in the Walter Reed Hospital, Washington. Mrs. Baron is the former Miss Ann Spizman of Philadelphia.

Corinthian Members To Attend Regattas Local members of the Corinthian Yacht Club will attend the of the Cambridge Yacht Club today regatta and tomorrow at Cambridge, and also will go to the Sparrows Point Yacht Chela for a regatta which will be tomorrow and Monday at Gibson Island. On Monday, July 21. the North East Yacht Club will hold its races at North East and the week of July 26 and 27 will be featured by regatta at Chestertown, Md.

Birth is Announced Mr. and Mrs. John Hare III are being congratulated on the birth of a son last Sunday in the Homoeopathic Hospital. The child been named John Hare IV. Mrs.

Hare is the former Miss Katherine Bebout. Mr. Hare is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hare.

The child is the elder Hare's first grandchild. Trail Club to Visit Poconos The Wilmington Trail Club will visit the Pocono Mountains this week-end. Miss Ruth Thompson is chairman. The group will leave the city at 8 a. m.

today and the intersection of High and Gay Streets, West Chester, at 8:30 o'clock. Miss Betty Hill was leader of the trip to Lenape Park this week. Art Exhibition Includes Work Of Print Club Show Will Continue Through July 23 At League Studio The current exhibition by Delaware artists that opened Wednesday the studio of the Rehoboth Art League, Rehoboth Beach, is attracting many visitors and much favorable comment. The exhibitors include Clara Finkelstein, Edward Loper, and 39 members of the Wilmington Print Club. The show will continue through July 23.

Otis Walter of Philadelphia as art instructor at the Rehoboth Art League next week. She taught junior classes at the league the past two summers. Miss Harrington also will serve as chairman of the annual exhibition of art of the Village Improvement Association at the the latter part of July and August. REHOBOTH BEACH NEARS PEAK OF RESORT SEASON Rehoboth Beach is now nearing the peak of its resort season with summer crowds swelling the population by several thousand. Hotels and boarding houses are operating at capacity.

During the day the beaches are gay with bathers and congenial groups gathered under multi-colored umbrellas, while throngs promenade the boardwalk every evening. Summer cottage owners are entertaining extensively. Rehoboth-Indian Beach Club the younger set has formed a dancing group, called the "Nine O'clock Club," to receive instruction in ballroom dancing. Teaching them are Miss Janie Stimson and Mr. Robert Driscoll of the club's staff.

Among those in the class are the Miss Peggy Daily, Miss Joan Darby, Miss Marguerite Deschamps, Miss Cynthia Jones, and Miss Susan Denham. Entertaining this week at the club was Mrs. Norman P. Sloan, of Angola. Her guests were Mr.

and Mrs. James Wynn of Haverford, Mr. and Mrs. Jack McAvoy of Philadelphia, and Mr. Samuel Sloan.

Plans are already under way for a "Gay Nineties Ball" to be given at the club by Rehoboth summer residents next Friday. Many unique costumes are being assembled by the summer crowd for the affair which is expected to be a highlight in the July social activities at the resort. The ball will be preceded by a number of dinner and cocktail parties. Mr. and Mrs.

James Chandler, of Wilmington are spending the month Rehoboth Beach. Miss Maryemma Ryan of Newark, who is summering at the resort with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon H. Ryan, had as her recent guest, Miss Jane Barnard of Milford.

Among the Wilmington residents now at the resort are Mrs. Draper Smith and her chi' dren. Mrs. G. Prew Savoy, daughter of U.

S. Senator John G. Townsend. has as her guest Miss Margaret Reynolds of Washington. Mrs.

T. M. Huber of Philadelphia is spending the remainder of the month as the guest of Chief Justice and Mrs. Daniel J. Layton at their summer cottage, "Pointed Lawn." Mr.

Tom Garbutt of Wilmington. and Mr. and Mrs. William Garbutt of Frederica were guests a few days this week of Mr. and Mrs.

James Humes at Dewey Beach. Miss Madeline Orendorff of and visiting Mrs. at P. E. Dewey Costello.

Criticism has been given the work of art students each Tuesday and Thursday since the opening of the school on June 17. The teachers included Mr. Edward Grant, Mr. Stafford Good, and Mrs. Helen Adams Gangwere.

The fall term of the Academy will open on Sept. 25. A new course this season will be in mural painting under the direction of Mr. N. C.

'Festi-Fun' Tonight To Aid Eastern Star Members of 14 subordinate chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star in Delaware and their friends will attend the "Festi-Fun" this evening in the Shrine Club at State Road. Supper will be served at 5 o'clock. A dinner prize of a China service for four will be presented at 9:30 o'clock. Dancing and cards will begin at 8 o'clock. There will also be other attractions, including fortune telling, a grab bag, sales of food and beverages.

Proceeds will benefit the Grand Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in Delaware of which Mrs. Jane R. Zebley is worthy grand matron. Mrs. G.
