Sunday, April 18, 1982 D7 Sunday Nawa Journal, Dal. Seven voted to Delaware Sports Hall Continued from D6 John Joseph Tosi Sr. "I was All-East, All-Catholic and All-Philadelphia Scholastic," Tosi said. "This (his election to the Hall) is tremendous, too. It's a surprise.

I'm very appreciative." Tosi said he earned All-Philadelphia Scholastic as a center and linebacker while playing on the same team at Salesianum with O'Neill in 1931, and All-East and All-Catholic while playing the same positions for Niagara University. Tosi's accomplishments earned him a contract in the National Football League in 1939. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers and also later played with the Brooklyn Dodgers, who had a back-field that included Ace Parker, Pug Manders and Beattie Feathers. Tosi also played for the Wilmington Clippers. After graduating from Salesianum, Tosi didn't get around to playing college football until a few years later when he played on the Fordham freshman team.
