$1,500. $425. MOBILE, Jan. 5 (P). Twot power -packed all star football teams square off here tomorrow afternoon in the second annual Senior Bowl game, a pro debut for the 54 com peting college players.

With the game the hand-picked enior gridders kiss their amateur standings goodbye by accepting a healthy cut of the gate receipts. The winning squad pulls down 60 per cent of the players pool. The contest, played for the first time at Jacksonville, last year, gives the players a chance to strut their stuff before a host of pro football scouts. All but two of the national pro fessional football league teams are represented. Draft of college seniors comes up later this month.

Coaches Steve Owen and Alvin (Bo) McMillin ended pre-game practice with light drills today. Most of the time was devoted to ironing out minor flaws of their powerful offensive tactics. Warm, sunshiny weather is predicted for the game. And some 25,000 fans are almost sure to witness a high scoring battle. Both teams are loaded with good running backs and dangerous passing combinations.

The North squad is favored by six points due largely to its big- name backfleld of SMU's Kyle RoteJ and John Champion, Oklahoma's Leon Heath and Claude Arnold, Nebraska's Fran Nagle, Wyoming's Eddie Talboom and Missouri's Ed Stephens. Owen has molded his and A formations around Alabama's All America Eddie Salem, Mississippi's John Dottley, LSU's Ken Konz, Georgia's Billy Mixon, Tulane's Joe Ernst and Mississippi Southern's Bubber Phillips. Both sides are well manned at the ends. The South has two stellar performers in Vanderbilt's Bucky Curtis and Bill Stribling of Mississippi. Salem and Ernst are expected to do most of the passing.

Nagle, Rote and Arnold will handle most of the passing chores of the Yankees. Their targets will be UCLA's Bob Wilkerson and Ben Proctor of Texas, two of the nation's best. Probable lineups: Position North End Wilkerson. UCLA. Tackle Jackson, Texas.

Guard Kadelie, Missouri. Center Moore, Oklahoma. Guard Auffarth, Wake Forest. Tackle Donan, Princeton. End Proctor, Texas.

Back Arnold. Oklahoma. Back Rote, SMU. Back Champion. SMU.

Back Heath, Oklahoma. Position Soath End Curtis, Vanderbllt. Tackle Hannah, Alabama. Guard Shoaf, LSU. Center Lauer, Alabama.

Guard Doyle, Tulane. Tackle Rogas. Tulane. End Stribling. Mississippi.

Back Ernst, Tulane. Back Phillips, Mississippi Southren. Back Strickland. South Carolina. Back Dottley, Mississippi.

The Board of Governors of the National Basketball Association today upheld action of President Maurice Podoloff in refusing to sanction the purchase by Fort Wayne of Charley Share, former Bowling Green, star. Fort Wayne purchased Share several weeks ago from Waterloo of the National Professional Basketball League, but the deal was rejected by Podoloff. Fort Wayne appealed to the board of governors. The board reported that share was the first draft choice last year of the Boston Celtics, but had signed instead with Waterloo of the other league. Fort Wayne obtained permission, of Boston to purchase share, from Waterloo, and one of the considerations was that Fort Wayne would give the Celtics rights" to their 1 draft choice in 1952.

An NBA spokesman said Share, now at Fort Wayne, must go to Boston. Ring Immortal Jeffries Files Suit for Slander BURBANK, Jan. 6 (JP). James J. Jeffries, former heavyweight champion, today filed a slander suit against two promoters of a bingo-type quiz game.

The suit is directed against Richard A. Parker and Todd Faulkner, also known as Kid Mexico. Jeffries claims the two slandered him in their oral advertising for the game "Conflict." The game is held In Jeffries Barn," which the ex-champ once used for boxing and wrestling shows. Jeffries contends that he has always enjoyed "a good name" and that he in no way was a partner in the game. Parker was acquitted of a gambling charge yesterday.

A Jury held that "Conflict" was a game of skill and not chance. Tropical Park Apprentice Set Down for Rest of Meet MIAMI, Jan. 5 UP). The Tropical Park stewards suspended Apprentice Charlie Burr today for the remainder of the meeting for striking Jockey Jimmy Stout with his whip during the first race. Stout was on the winner.

Grand-view Stable's Ground Fog, a con sistent gelding, continued on his winning today as he won the seventh and best race of the stakes-less program at Tropical Park. It was the gray horse's fourth straight victory, three at Tropical and one at Pimlico before invading the Southland. Though compelled to race wide, Ground Fog came on with determination through the short stretch to nail J. J. Colando's Rock Span by a half length, covering one mile and a sixteenth on a fast track in 1:44.

He paid $7.70 for $2. Rock Span was made an even money favorite in the race, despite two unimpressive efforts earlier in the meeting. However, the presence of Joe Culmone in the saddle unquestionably influenced many in the crowd of 7,520. Third in the seven-horse field was Double Farm's Lambent, which had won his three previous starts over the track. Fourth was Equinox II.

Colonel Mike broke poorly and was eliminated from contention at once. Rock Span was rushed to the front by Culmone and he showed the way to the sixteenth marker. There Ground Fog reached him then gradually asserted his superiority under Sammy Boulmetis. Ground Fog is owned by Harry Massey, Pittsburgh auto dealer, who was present to see his gelding keep his slate clean. Culmone accepted three mounts through the seventh and failed, to win race.

The sensational Sicilian made a bold bid on Saxony in the first race, for maiden 3-year-olds, but the colt had to be satisfied with second money to William G. Helis Black Bay. In Readiness- was third. Black Bay, ridden by Jimmy Stout, paid $6.90. Culmone had no mounts in the second -and fourth events.

In the third, the chesty little fellow finished out of the money on the well-backed favorite, Reflexion. This sprint was easily taken by Cadet Dan $12.40, piloted by Apprentice Don Mitchell. Culmone had three winners on Thursday and two on Wednesday, when he returned to the saddle after a layoff of two days. Mrs. M.

Fife's Lady's Delight, $4.70, led all the way in the three quarter fourth race, beating W. L. Huntley's Pisgah Road, a recent arrival from California, by a half- length, thanks to a fine ride by Jack Skelly. Hambone beat five others 3- year-olds for the short end. Sweep Bolt, $24.50, with Charlie Headley up, romped off with the second, and completed a daily double of $95.70, which had been started by Black Bay.

ARCADIA, Jan. 5 (INS). Veteran Jockey Johnny Gilbert was reported improving today at Hunt ington Memorial Hospital where he was taken after a spectacular crash in the sixth race at Santa Anita yesterday. Splnaround fell as the Calumet Farms Little Cindy broke her leg and was pulled up by Jockey Steve Brooks, who escaped injury.
