A young man in one of the newspaper offices of this city, has secured the consent of a young lady "on the Hill," to allow the following to appear in this column. It is good because it is true. A few days' ago he received a letter from the lady in question asking another man to meet her at the depot on acertain day. This other young man lives in Newburgh and he was at Port Jeryia at this time. The note was as follows: "Dear 1 will meet Erie train No.

-Besure and be on this train." 1 He did the only decent thing for him to do, called on her at once and explained her error. Then she told him that she had written to both him and her other friend and enclosed the wrong each. Luckily neither letter coi Id injure anyone's feelings for as she puts it to her friends, "neither one of them has any particular strings on me' an 1 now each sees he has an open chance to win her. It Is reported that the stockholders of the Liberty and Jefiersonville Electric Railroad have leased for a term of years ths roadbed to the Ontario and Western Railroad Company, who will put down the rails and equip the road ready for business.

This means that the road will be finished at once, and is a good thing for the people as well as for the future welfare of tbe road. Inasmuch as the road ift run to the Liberty depot and along the O. and W. tracks ioradiftanoe it seems as though the O. and W.

Company is the proper concern to operate the road. The power house of the Liberty electric light plant, with its powerful double engines, might be induced to 'furnish the elfctricty for tho running of the road. Of course the 0. and W. has enough old rails along its road to lay on the trolley line, and by the arrangement i about all the cash the O.
