Mrs. Virginia C. Kefaurer, wife rf Mr. Dawson G. Kefauver, at her re-i- dence, near Keedvsville, WashingO'i county, last Friday, from typhoid fe'v er.

After nursing to recoverv five cf her children who nid been ill wirh the er, Mrs. Kefauver as herself prostrated with the disease. Mrs.Ke- fauver was a daughter of the late Peter Shafer, of this valley, where she resided until about eight or nine years ago and was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends. She was in the -48th year of her age, and she Isaves a deeply distressed sisting of a husband and seven children. Her remains were brought to this placs at noon Sunday, and after funeral services the Lutheran church they were interred in the Reformed cemetery.

Mrs Virginia C. Wastler, wife of Mr Simon Wasder, of this place.died on Thunday evening of last week after a lingering illness, of consumption, in the Siih year of her age. Mrs. Wasder was a daughter of the late Geo. Harshmn, of Harmony, and was a highly esteemed lady.

She leaves no children. Her funeral took place Saturday afternoon at the Lutheran church, of which she was a consistent member and intermens was made in the Lutheran cemetery. A BSEAK BOWK. Mr. Otho J.

Gaver, oi Myersvil'e, while on his way to Frederick last Monday, met with an accident. He was leading a colt iu the resr of his buggy, and when descending the hill at Seller's mill, one mile west of this place, a dog ran out and frightened the cole, which jumped inta the hind wheel of ths buggy and denuded it of every spoke. Dogs got into a fiock of twelve sh ep on the farm of Mr. Charles H. about 2 miles noth of this place, one night recently and killed nine ont of the twelve and badly injured another one.
