Chelten Apartments, 43) Old Forge Road, Wilton. Elevator rescue. By TEDCADDELL Staff reporter CAPE MAY, N.J. A 73-year-old man died Sunday after the small runabout he was in capsized, spilling him and three others into the Atlantic Ocean. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Fred Hoatlin at the Cape May station said the man remained in the water for about 25 minutes before he was located by a Coast Guard helicopter and pulled aboard a patrol boat.

The other three men in the 16-foot boat were rescued by a private vessel and a Coast Guard surf boat. All three were treated for mild hypothermia at an area hospital, and then released. None of the four was wearing a life jacket, Hoatlin said, although at least one was found when the craft was towed back to the Coast Guard station. Hoatlin said Pericles Delia-Loggia, of Center Square, died in the incident. Rescued were: Andrew Delia-Loggia, 39, of Abington, the victim's son; boat owner and operator Ron Vandegrift, 40, of Ambler, and John Drapikowski, 23, also of Center Square, Pa.

"We have no idea whatsoever what happened," Hoatlin said. "Nor do we have any idea what they were doing." The drama began at 12:43 p.m., when the private vessel "Try Again" notified the Coast Guard that a small boat had capsized about 1.5 miles east of Cape May. The crew of the "Try Again" plucked two of the boaters the younger Delia-Loggia and Vandegrift out of the water at 12:45 p.m., Hoatlin said. Three minutes later, the crew of a 41 -foot Coast Guard patrol boat that happened to be in the area Joseph F. Captain Sr.
