Welcome back Michael O'Leary in the role of Rick Bauer on Guiding Light. O'Leary wanted to check out the L.A. acting scene he went, he saw, he decided to return. Krista Tesreau's pilot did not sell to ABC so she will continue to portray Mindy. Judith Chapman, of the fine acting and beautiful eyes, joins One Life to Live for six months as an old flame of Jon, which creates problems for Jon and Cassie's romance.

Jorn Winther, executive producer for All My Children since this past December, was relieved of his duties last week. Winther called the show's cast and crew together on Wednesday and announced they would have a new producer Monday morning. Winther's replacement is Stephen Schenkel, whose last daytime producing assignment was Another World. Look for lots of cast changes on "AMC," but don't blame them on Schenkel, at least not the first batch of actors that bid adieu to Pine Valley. All the performers (except-Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams) involved in the baby-selling ring will be exiting.

Deborah Moorhart (Robyn) and Jeffrey Byron (Jeff Martin) also have been dropped. Hopefully the Jeff Martin role will be re-cast. As the son of Joe Martin, Erica's first husband and a solid member of the Pine Valley community, Jeff Martin is an important member of the core family. Peggy O'Shea's recent departure as One Life to Live's head writer has the rumor mill buzzing that she is heading to All My Children to take over head writing duties. ABC has not confirmed or denied the rumor.

With its 50th anniversay looming (it began on radio) Guiding Light has lots of festive plans. A black tie, invitation-only soiree is being held at Lincoln Center at the end of June. CBS and Proctor and Gamble have come TView Sunday News Journal Week ot May 31 -June 6. 1987.
