On NBC at 9 is Rambo: irst Blood, Part II," the 1985 action film that starred Sylvester Stallone and made the character Rambo a part of the nation's political In "I Saw What You Did." Shawnee Smith i narrative line to create any kind of sustained suspense. The gimmicky casting of David Carradine as Robert's sane, concerned older brother worked to far better advantage in the 1980 western "The Long in this case it's merely a waste of a good actor. Meanwhile, with "Rambo III" opening next week, NBC tries to cash in on the mounting Stallone mania with its repeat of "Rambo: First Blood Part II," in which Rambo fought the Vietnam War all over again. With plenty of fire and corpses, Rambo goes to Vietnam to hunt for MIAs.

He finds several and rescues one annoying, treacherous Washington bureaucrat who peevishly orders a rescue helicopter to strand Rambo in enemy territory. Rambo is tortured, but sadistic Soviet soldiers are no match for Rambo and Co, his lovely Vietnamese helpmate. They kill dozens, and Rambo suffers a hand wound. A kiss, a burst of machine-gun fire and Co is dead. More fire and corpses.

Rambo takes over helicopter in flight, destroys prison camp, rescues MIAs, knocks out Soviet gunship, returns to base in Thailand and attacks U.S. computers.
