I A DAWSON'S N'S FORT WAYNE WEEKLY TIMES. DAWSON'S FORT WAYNE TIMES. Kossuth has disappeared from London and it is conjectured gone to Hungary. In that country everything is ripe for a revolution which will include Crotia an 4 Servia, which States in 1848 furnished soldiors to the Austrian army, which next to Russian interrention, was the salvation of the Not only will the rising be more general, the people wore united and enthusiastic than they were in the former revolution, but a new and powerful clement will be introduc ed against which the Austrian batteries will avail but little. That element is tho religious one.Tosanely, and with a hot bigotry rivaling that of the dark ages, Francis Joseph, urged on by his Ather confessor, has actually, in this, the 19th, century, attempted to coerce the mot spirited and independent peopl: of Europe into forsaking the faith ct their fathers and adopt dogu.as for which they have ever manifested the most in ter.se aversion.

Were there no other cause of alone would bo enough. There were wellgrounded cauius of complaint before and this, the greatest, piled upon the others, has sealed the fate of Austria in Hungary forerer. Were every polit.cal difference reconciled, were the enco to withdraw his detestable decrees against the Protestant faith, it would arail him nothing now. The people bare confidence in bim of his, and it is now war to the knife, and the knife to the hilt between the dynasty of llapsburg and the Hungarian people. The land writing is on the wall and the insensate monarch sunk in debauch ry cannot or will not see.

His doom is propounced by the public roice of Europe, and the days of his dominion over Hungary are ed. There will soon be none so poor as to do him reverence, Isabella Jane, daughter of James Stephons lately hung in the city of New York for poisoning his wife, died in that city on the 18th aged 8 years 6 months and 15 days. The physicians who attended her said that nothing ailed her but trouble that she died of a broken heart. An affecting erreumstance took place at the do-i: scene uf the trial. She sat on the 1 eh In- close embrace, while re 41 teliberating on the was in da court, at such a even a todd3s: hold th: ir breath for a time." Her father would occasionally band iris head to kiss her nd murmur words of endearment, tor she was his only tie on earth.

As the jury came Blowly in the silence was almost painful, and when the foreman in answer to the usual question of the clerk said in low but distinct tones "guilty," every one in the Court room drew a long breath of relief from suspense. The child seeing that her father remained seated while the crowd was passing out, took hold of his hand and said, "come, papa, let us go, its all over now." It melted the unhappy men to tears. When he was lod away to his cell she was in an agony of grief, and from that time drooped until she was kindly relieved from by the welcome hand of death. It is, indeed, "all over now;" and father, mother and child are sleeping in one grave the sleep that knows no waking here. 00 Our telegraph dispatches announce the total loss of the Steamship Hungarian from Europe with probably evory soul on board.

How she contrived to get so far off her course as to strike the reef on which she was wrecked will probably never be known. In crossing the Atlantic we should prefer vessels which take the Southern route, as, though it may occupy longer time, according to Lieut. Maury, who is authority in all maritime matters, it is much the safer Every steamer which has been wrecked since the commencement of Steam navigation between this country and the old world was wrecked on the coasts of Newfoundland, or the adjacent islands. By going further South the fogs which hang lise shroud over the fishing banks and neighboring ocean are aroided, thus lessening the danger of collision with vessels and icebergs. 00 We gave, a few days ago, the census of Kansas as reported by the Governor of that ritory.

It is grossly inaccurate in every respect. Not only were many counties not enumerated, but in those that were, the population purposely or carclessly put down at scarcely two-thirds their number. This the official report of the committee on elections of the Kansas legislature establishes beyond a doubt. Again bad the census been fully and fairly taken, as it was done prior to June, 1859, since which time the emigration to Kansas has been unprecedented, it would afford very inadequte idea of the number of inhabitants there now. Those best acquainted with the matter coincide in the belief that at least 100,000 people are now residing in Kansas.

The object of the Governor in lowering the number of the inhabitants seem3 an excuse to the Lecompton Senators to keep Kansas out of the Union, when she applies for admission under the Wyandotte Constitution. Mr. Douglas, however, will expose the iniquity in the Senate and urge the immediate admission of Kansas, and in this he will be supported by the country at large, and by the friends of fair and open dealing everywhere. 00 A pear was grown at the San Jose Mission, weighing two and a half pounds. It an average sample of the products of a tree eight years old.

(P The indent of the N. hmond Vic is to i lus ital before the Legislative comant.en at Richinced with the view of oluaining a pardon. Mr. S. goes upon the invitation of Gov.

Letcher who is favorably inclined to the side of mercy. The Judge and the prosecuting Attorwho tried the case, both unite in the application for pardon. "The quality of mercy is not strained. It falleth like the gentle rain from heaven upon the eartb beneath. It is thrice blessed; it blesseth him that gircs and him that takes.

"Tis mightiest in the mighty." A long needed line of steamers has been 'established between New York and the Mediterranean. They run directly to and from Gibralter, Genoa, Leghorn, Naples, Messina, Palermo, Malaga. On the fifteent', February the second vessel of the line, the propeller Robert Lowe, arrived in New York laden with full cargo of fruits and bringing passengers. left Gibralter on the 15th ult. The other vessels of the line, the Tynemouth, of 2,000 tons, the Milo, of 1,600 tons -both steam propelIt is to be hoped that this line will be supported.

Aside from its commercial value, there can be more delightfal trip for the invalid who sighs warmer winds and greener shores, than this voyage from the stormy to the milder Atlantic, through the wonderful straits, and on withmagic, dreamy, land-locked, central sea, to the terraced with vines and olives, and cities enshrine the gems of classic art, and rich every association that can delight the im. in agination. I image saral Herald would delicately intimate to Toledo Times that tovesty is the best policy. Alas that the teachings of the worthy parients of the editors of that astute paper should evanished from their minds, before the ob hare fus sating influence of democratic associations. when you appropriate our lucubrations bodily, do you not give us the credit due? Brethren, fair play.

Er Two Arctic expeditions will probably be fitted out at an early day. from this country, under command of Dr. Hays, who, it will be re. collected, was surgeon of Dr. Kane's expedition, to explore, if possible, the great open sea around the Pole, called Polonia, via Smith's Sound; the other from England under the command of Wiiliam Parker Snow, for the purpose of further search fur survive of Sir Jobn Franklin's M- starred expedition.

Mr. Snow believes that there ave still some hapless ones alire of the crews of the two unfortunate vessels. It is said, says the New York Tribune, that Tom Sayres has been on a frolic ever since Christmas, and that while under the influence of liquor he quarreled with and fought Larry Broome, and another well knows pugilist whom he had defeated in the ring. Whether he is go. ing through these performances with an eye to the betting, or whether he thinks he has an casy job before him, and can afford to be careless, we don't kocw and what is more, we don't care.

Three dwarfs are on exhibition in Paris, more wonderful than even Tom They are respectively of Italian, Austrian and Hungarian origin. One is 19 years old and measures thirty inches in height; the second is 25, and thirty-one inches high, and the third is 25 and thirty-five inches high. They are said to be very amusing and capital actors. We call the attention of our friends to the new Grocery and Provision Store of C. HASS.A whose.

advertisement appears in another column. A new store, but more especially fresh and cheap goods, should always attract customers. As Hanna Co. have superior facilities for the purchase of goods, and are determined not to be undersold, we cordially commend them to the consideration of purchasers. IF C.

M. Russell, director of the Pittsburgh Fort Wayne Chicago Railroad, died at Massillon, Ohio, on Monday last, the 20th inst. (P We are glad to learn that the Chicago merchants anticipate a heavy trade this spring, and are and have been laying in their stocks accordingly. It is expected that navigation and business will commence earlier than usual! this spring. IF The New York Herald estimate the population of the United States at thirty millions.

07 The New York Independent says there is a steady and regular increase in business, as the spring approaches, but without the least excitement. (F Galveston, Texas, has at last been connected to the main land, by a magnificent bridge, said to be the longest in the United States. Fred. Douglas is lecturing in England. The collegians of Yale, Brown, Harvard and Amherst propose to publish a quarterly, to be printed at New Haven, and to be edited by the representatives of each college. HE Mr. Kimball, American Consul, at St. Helena, has obtained from the French Emperor permission to take one of the original stones from the grave of Napoleon, as a contribution to the Washington monument. A caution to mothers.

In Chicago a little girl named Jane Ann Ure, playing with the stove in the absence of its mother, was burned to death by its clothes catching fire. Parents cannot be too careful of the little ones. 0C7 Washington's birth-day was celebrated throughout the country with more than usual thusiasm. It is a cheering and significant indication of the love of country inherent in the American character, and before which sectionalism must succumb. Er Hon.

Abe Lincoln and wife came from west this morning at 1 o'clock, on the T. W. W. R. and changing cars at this city, went east.

Old Abe" looks like as if his pattern been a mighty ugly one. tr A Philadelphia correspondent of the lanta Confederacy says: 64 been Pennsylvania and New Jersey are lost. They have bought and paid for by the Black publicans. So far as the Presidential contest concerned, the victory is gained before the battle begins. The South has but one thing to do well Nominate a man who can command an army as direct a cabinet, and vote for him unanimous y.

After the election inaugurate him. will be the only constitutional President." It is by no means certain that Pennsylvania and New Jersey are lost to the Democracy. We admit that just now they strongly incline to the side of the Opposition, but all will depend upon the action of the two national conventions. The Repatlicans would like the astute correspondent of the Confederacy to infuse a little of his conf. dence as to the result in their breasts.

As to the South nominating a man who can command an ariny, is all unmitigated "bosh" of the silliest kind. Lord Chancellor OF of Lord Campbell, the UNANIMITY England, has renewed his in ffectual effort to abolish that princiof the trial by jury which requires the unaminty of jurors. Parliament has already limitthe application of trial by jury, by lately, that in some cases, the decision of a judge enacting, or magistrate may supercede that of of a jury on questions pure fact. The Lord Chancellor would go much farther to advocate the of a law providing that if the jury in a c.vil passage tion cannot agree, after having deliberated a certain time, the verdict of a certain number of them -probably a majority -roay be taken as a ferdict in the case. It is not proposed to make such change in criminal cases.

We dont publish the above as original matter as a great many of our cotemporaries have done. This method of leading articles and not crediting them is not only dishonest, but shows a paucity of brains in those who do it. 0T Yesterday, 23ru the House balloted for printer. POWELL, Gen'l Traveling Ag', April 25. '39)-dtf HOSTETTER'S STOMACH BITTERS. IN Ir is a fact that, at some period, ber of the human family is subject to every disease menor with the disturbance of the bodily functions; but, aid of a good tonic and the exercise of plain common sense, they may be able so to regulate the system as to secure permanent health. In order to accomplish this desired that object, the true course to pursue is certainly which will produce a natural state of things at the least hazard of vital strength and life. For this purpose, Dr.

Hostetter has ithis troduced to this country a preparation bearing name, which is not a new medicine, but one that has been tried for years, giving satisfaction to all who hare used it. The Bitters operate powerfully upon the stomach, bowels, and liver, restoring them to a healthy and vigorous action, and thus, by the simple process of strengthening nature, enable the bystem to triumph over discase. For the cure of Dyspepsia, Indigestion, Kansca, Flatulency, Loss of Appetite, or any Bilious Complaints, arising from 8 morbid inaction of the Stomach or Bowels, producing Cramps, Dysentery, Colic, Cholera Morbus, these Bitters have no equal. Diarrhoa, dysentery or flux, so generally tracted by new settlers, and caused principally by the change of water and diet, will be speedily regulated by a a brief use of this preparation. Dyspepsia, disease which is probably more prevalent, in all its various forms, than any other, and the cause of which may always be attributed to derangements of the digestive organs, HOSTETTER'S can be cured without fail by using STOMACH BITTERS, AS per directions on the bottle.

For this disease every physician will recommend Bitters of some kind; then why not use an article known to be infallible? All nations have their Bitters, as a preventive of disease and strengthener of the tem in general; and among them all there is not to be found a more healthy people than the Germans, from whom this preparation emanated, based upon scientific experiments which have tended to prove the value of this great preparation in the scale of medical science. FEVER AND trying and provoking disease, which fixes its relentless grasp on she body of man, reducing him to a mere shedow in a short time, and rendering him physically and mentally useless, can be drives from the body by the use of HOSTETTER'S RENOWNED BITTERS. Further, none of the above-stated diseases can be contracted, even in exposed situations, if the Bitters are used 89 per directions. And as they neither create nausea nor offend the palate, and render unnecessary any change of diet or interruption of ordinary pursuits, but promote sound sleep and healthy digestion, the complaint is removed as spcedily as is consistent with the preduction of a thorough and permanent cure. For Persons in Advanced Years, who suffering from an enfeebled constitation and infirm body, these Bitters are invaluable restorative of strength and vigor, and need only be tried to be appreciated.

And to mother while nursing these Bitters are indispensable, especially where the mother's nourishment is inadequate to the demands of the child, consequently her strength mast yield, and here it is where a good tonic, such Hostetter's Stomach Bitters, is needed to impart temporary strength and vigor to the system. Ladies should by all means try this remedy for all cases of debility, and, before so doing, should ask their physician, who, if he acquainted with the virtue of the Bitters, will recommend their use in all cases of weakness. -We caution the public against using any of the many imitations or counterfeits, but ask for HOSTETTER'S CELEBRATED STOMACH BITTERS, and see that each bottle has the words "Dr. J. Hostetter's Stomach Bitters" blown on the sido of the bottle, and stamped on the metallic cap covering the cork, and observe that our autograph signature is on the label.
