Friday, I ABC reruns Williams' "A Streetcar Desire." The two writers grew up in tough Settings, watching the contrasts between the haves and have-nots. WHliams was in St. Louis, a boy Surrounded mostly by women from the South. He began capturing the flamboyance of their words and itheir dreams. Hinton was in Tulsa, a girl surrounded by tough, blue-collar boys.

The station, W27AJ, will send out a low-power signal that can be picked up roughly within a 14-mile radius of Dover. It will offer a regular Kent County newscast and Delaware-related public affairs programming, along with WMDT's blend of programs from NBC, ABC and syndicators. The news and community affairs programming will originate from a studio in Dover.

The station currently sends a news crew to Dover regularly but has no permanent bureau there. General manager Frank Pilgrim said he expects to employ 10 to 15 people for the operation. The station is building a 256-foot tower on White Oak Road in Dover. Pilgrim said Channel 27 would be seen in color and heard in stereo.
