Nov. 2: The eastern disturbance has advanced off the New England Coast and pressure is now generally high east of the Rockies, with crests over Minnesota and the onio valley Tha Pacific-Canadian Northwest low pres sure area, still apparently central near the lower Alaskan Coast, has spread rapidly southeastward between the Rockies and Pacific Coast. Tonight Magician Thurston to Thrill Radioland With Tricks BY DOUG DOUGLAS Concerts, a magician, politicians, Omar Khayyam and 400 birds make the microphone throb today. Even the concerts are taking on a political tinge as we And Olno Sever! batoning for ballots by dedicating' his Inglewood Park Concert (KHJ 8 p.m.) to "The Candidates. It la to be, however, a neutral half-hour with compositions that will please everyone from a Communist to a conservative. Then at 8:15 p.u. we are Invited to the new War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco.

There Alfred Hertz signals hia San Francisco Symphony Orchestra to flood the air waves with the works of Massenet, Mozart and Beethoven. The numbers to be played In both of these concerts will be found in the Highlights. In the political arena of the air both of the major parties put forward well known speakers, at 8 p.m. over KECA Senator Norris speaks ui behalf of Gov. Roosevelt; while the Republican bright spot of the evening is an address by Webb, coming over the Don Lee radio tatlon, KHJ, at 9:45 p.m.

Digging Into the Variety column we turn up one of the trio of world-famed magicians. Remember Thurston. Houdinl and Raymond? The NBC releases to KFI at 9:15 p.m. a new series starring Howard Thurston. In forsaking the stage for the microphone, Thurston believes he has discovered a new means for thrilling millions.

So the rabbits will be pulled out of an airy hat tonight. By coincidence, Fannie Hurst and Daniel Tobin, speaking on behalf of Gov. Roosevelt, vie with Baron Munchausen on the air, the novelist speaking over KHJ at 7 p.m., withe the "great big story teller" weaves his fibs over KFI at the same hour. A half-hour earlier, KHJ 6:30 p.m., discovers our Persian friend, Omar Kahyyam, In the throes of love, assassins and his Tartar 4X Srl sweetheart. Stu-K Viart Buchanan, enacting the title role, is making Omar not only an excellent poet but a wicked wielder of a sword.
