CECH. NEWS JOURNAL WEDNESDAY, AUG. 22, 1990 BUTTIMER SERVICES: Memorial services for THOMAS W. BUTTIMER, 45, of Bel Air, will be at. 2.

p.m. Friday in I Elam United Methodist Church, 1073 Smith Bridge Road, Glen Mills, Pa. Mr. Buttimer was pronounced dead early Friday in Union Hospital, Elkton, after a car accident Thursday night near Rising Sun. He MR.

BUTTIMER was driving on U.S. 1 near Maryland 276 when his car crossed into the opposite lane and hit an oncoming car, according to state police in North East. Mr. Buttimer was a principal shareholder in Mitchell Associates of Wilmington. He was a member of the Business Economic Development Committee of the Delaware Chamber of Commerce and the Committee of 100.

He was an avid participant in many charitable celebrity golf tournaments. He was a graduate of Susquehanna University, Selingsgrove, Pa. He is survived by his wife, Susan C. Phile Buttimer; his parents, the Rev. Thomas A.

and Mary B. Buttimer of Hawley, and a brother, the Rev. John T. of Reading, Pa. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Wee Love Day-care Center, in care of the Rev.

John Buttimer, 50 E. Court West Lawn, Pa. 19609. EDWARD F. COLLINS, 66, of 103 Colfax Road, Rutherford, Newark, died Monday of heart failure at home.

Mr. Collins served in the Navy for 25 years, retiring in 1968 from the Navy Recruiting Office on Kirkwood Highway. Recently, he was supervisor of campus mail service at the University of Delaware. He retired in 1988. He was a World War II veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star for fighting on Guadalcanal.

He was a member of Solomon Masonic Lodge. His wife, Bertha died in 1988. He is survived by a son, Edward A. of Waldorf, two daughters, Rosemary Weber of Portland, Maine, and Nancy Collins of Hillsboro, a stepson, Edmond Vimond Jr. of Far Hills, N.J.; eight grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.

LUCILE NANCE COX, 86, of 104 Aronimink Drive, Newark, died Tuesday of congestive heart failure in Christiana Hospital, where she had been a patient. Mrs. Cox had been a homemaker. Her husband, Charles died in 1976. She is survived by a daughter, Katie Hill, with whom she lived; and a granddaughter.

OBITUARIES died Sunday of heart failure in Union Hospital, Elkton, after being stricken at home. Mr. Duckery worked for more than 20 years in the public works department of the town of Middletown, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Trinity AME Church. He is survived by his mother, Ada Blackston of Middletown; four brothers, Thomas Irving and William Garnett, both of Wilmington, Harry Blackston of Middletown and Theophitus Blackston of Philadelphia; and two sisters, Mattie Wilson of Wilmington, and Dorothy Carter of Middletown.

in Martinez, retired in 1970. He moved to Newark more than four years ago. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and square dancing. He is survived by his wife, Jean two daughters, Nancy L. Fleishman of Newark, and Barbara A.

Mrs. Golder, a bookkeeper at Scott Hardware in Branmar Plaza for 18 years, retired in 1985. She was a member of Congregation Beth Emeth.

She is survived by her husband, Donald two sons, Bruce M. of Annapolis and Jeffrey S. of Lexington, S.C.; a daughter, Maureen LaPorte of Fairfax; her mother, Marie Frankel, and a sister, Dorothy Blatt, both of Wilmington; and six grandchildren. Van Buren Wilmington, died Sunday of stroke in Lancaster General Hospital, where she had been a patient since a fall the previous week. Mrs. Kennedy had been a saleswoman at Kennard's and Strawbridge Clothier department stores. She moved to Leola in 1989. Her husband, Leo, died in 1983.

Lindstrom had been a homemaker. She was former promotion secretary and lifelong member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union of of Delaware. She was former president of Hoffecker Union, Women's Christian Temperance Union, Wilmington. She was a member of Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the choir and had taught women's bible class. Her husband, the Rev.

Gustaf died in 1965. She is survived by a daughter, Joanna L. Kelly, with whom she lived; two sisters, Elsie Havens Blue of Anchorage, Alaska, and Rose Brammer of Sarasota, two grandsons and two great-grandsons. Woolworth Fifth and Market streets, Wilmington. She retired in 1975 after 25 years. She was a longtime member of Christiana Presbyterian Church. Her husband, Hugh died in 1977. complications from leukemia in Christiana Hospital. Mrs. Smith, who moved to North Carolina in 1988, continued treatments for leukemia at Christiana Hospital and was admitted there at the end of July. Mrs. Smith had been a registered nurse at St.

Francis Hospital for many years and later at Eugene du Pont Memorial Hospital (Pelleport) of Medical Center of Delaware. She retired in 1981. Later, she worked in the medical records department at Riverside Hospital, until 1985. She was a former volunteer driver for the Red Cross in Wilmington. She is survived by her husband, Frederick a son, Walter S.

Shaw of Woodbridge, three daughters, Margaret M. Peters of Reston, Amy D. Bucher and Amanda E. Miller, both of Charlotte, N.C.; her mother, Evelyn Bacon of Danville, two sisters, Bonnie Shelton and Beth Boles, both of Danville; and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m.

Stackler owned and operated an electrical contracting company for 38 years. He retired about six months ago. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish Council and its altar service. He helped maintain the building and grounds of the church. He was a 34-year member of Wilmington Manor Fire Company, where he was a past president, past.

vice president, past assistant chief, past chief engineer and past captain. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Joseph P. Stahl Post 30, American Legion. JESSE WOOTEN, 56, of 123 Pennsylvania Claymont, died Monday of vascular disease in Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Upland, Pa. Mr. Wooten was a welder for 32 years at General Chemical Claymont. He was also an active member of United Steel Workers Union Local 12781. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

He is survived by a son, William W. at home; four daughters, Donna Hall and Ellen Wooten, both of Claymont, Carol Schrader of Aberdeen Proving Ground, and Sharon Blevins of Newark; a brother, Kenneth of Keymar, a sister, Edith Short of Claymont; and eight grandchildren. POLICE MOTORIST KILLED: SMYRNA A 28-year-old man died Monday in a car accident, state police said. James C. DRUG SUSPECT ARRESTED: SMYRNA Police acting on an anonymous tip Monday arrested the last suspect sought in a drug crackdown by city police, a police spokesman said.
