Richard, died in 1971. Survivors: son, Gregg of Wake Forest, N.C.; daughter, Catherine A. Salvato of Claymont; three grandchildren. Services and burial: private. Contributions: The Evergreen Center, Wilmington 19808 or Delaware Hospice, Wilmington 19810.

JOHN W. BLACKBURN 71, of Wilmington, died Sunday of cancer at home. Mr. Blackburn, a lifelong Wilmington resident, was a leather presser for 26 years at Beadenkopf Leather Co. in Wilmington and then at Allied Kid retiring in 1972.

He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church, New Castle. Survivors: wife, Willis; son, John W. III of Newark; brother, Robert W. of Wilmington; sisters, Dorothy Davis of Reading, and Betty Miklasiewicz and Joyce Johnson, both of Wilmington; a granddaughter. Service: 2 p.m.

BOWERS 73, of Cleland Heights, Wilmington, died Monday of a ruptured aneurysm in St. Francis Hospital. Mr. Bowers, a lifelong Wilmington resident, was an operations manager at Diamond State Telephone Co. and Bell Atlantic retiring in 1984 after about 40 years.

After that, he was a telecommunications independent contractor for H.L. Yoh Co. in suburban Philadelphia for seven years. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of St.

Elizabeth's Catholic Church, where he was a trustee, lector, Eucharistic minister, past chairman of the parish carnivals and a former member of the parish council. Survivors: wife of 49 years, Tessie Szubielski Bowers; son, Patrick of Wilmington; daughters, Marie Forrest of Newark, Jackie McGuire of Glen Mills, and Cathy Papili of Wilmington; sisters, Betty Donohoe of Harrisburg and Dolores Terepka of Wilmington; 10 grandchildren. Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday, St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Cedar and South Clayton streets.

JAMES EMERSON BROWN, 75, of Denton, died Thursday of heart failure in Easton Memorial Hospital. Mr. Brown worked for Caroline Poultry in Caroline County and as a driver for the Pinkett School Bus Line in Denton, both for 15 years. He later worked for the Caroline In Memoriam CATHERINE M. Mrs. Cabrey, a 1948 graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, worked at the hospital for 10 years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Claymont. Her husband, Joseph, died in 1984. Survivors: sons, Patrick J.

Burial: private. LILLIAN M. CAMPER, 98, a lifelong resident of Harrington, died Saturday of pneumonia in Milford Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Camper was a homemaker.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Harrington High School Alumni Association, Harrington Senior Center, Delaware Agricultural Museum and the New Century Club. She was an honorary member of the Harrington Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Milford Memorial Hospital board. Her husband, Jehu F. Camper, died in 1989. Cherundolo worked for Shellady Plumbing Co. for 40 years and for New Castle County for five years, before moving to Pennsylvania in 1979. He was a member of Plumbers Pipefitters Union Local 74, Wilmington. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Harold died Friday in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident east of Laurel. Mr. Harold was a farmer for Robert E. Dukes in Laurel for 37 years.

Mr. Singleton, a self-employed masonry contractor, established Zion Masonry Contractors in 1958. He retired in 1987. He also owned and bred thoroughbred race horses since 1963. He was a member of American Legion Mason-Dixon Post 194; the Horse Racing Association of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey; Pilot Town Rod Gun Club and the Oldtimers Baseball Association.

He was a charter member of the Susquehanna Retriever Club. Mr. Singleton played baseball in the Susquehanna League in the 1940s and 1950s and coached in the North East Little League and slow-pitch softball in Lewisville, in the early 1990s. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: wife, Dorothy J.

TRYON 80, of 4 Corkwood Lane, Rutledge, near New Castle, died Friday of heart failure in Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Elsmere. Mr. Tryon served in the Army for 23 years, retiring in 1960 with the rank of master sergeant.

A veteran of World War II, he received the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat in France. He worked in security and maintenance at Alfred I. du Pont Institute, Rockland, from 1960 until retiring in 1981. He lived in Delaware since 1960. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Claymont, for more than 30 years and VFW Post 5447 for 37 years.

Survivors: wife, Dorothy; sons, Harry J. Jr. of New Castle and Robert D. of Rehoboth Beach; sister, Marie Marianne of Philadelphia; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Service: 11 a.m.

Yeoman, former general manager of Choptank Electric Cooperative, died Saturday in Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was 98. HILMA E. VALLA, 78, formerly of Amityville, N.Y., died Sunday in Emily P. Bissell Hospital, Brandywine Springs, her residence for more than two years.

Mrs. Valla, a first lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II, was stationed in Texas. She was a member of Amityville United Methodist Church.
