DECEMBER 1, 1972 THE HOLLAND, MICHIGAN, EVENING FRIDAY, SENTINEL PAGE THREE Christmas Clearance Bureau Opens on Dec. 4 for people Providing: in a need Christmas is dinner' what the Christmas Clearance Bureau is all about. Beginning on DIondar. Dec. 4.

any person or organization can help those less fortunate in the community. The Clearance Bureau, headed by the Salvation in cooperation with the Social Service Department. and siaffed by members of the Junior Welfare League, will help provide a happier for all in need. Toe Bureau's function is 10 clear the names of those on welfare and keep a list of all those in need. This eliminates the duplication of names of fam-, ilies already receiving dinners.

Persons or groups who wish to provide a Chrisimas dinner are asked call the Bureau. certain size family. After the 396-7294 10 pear the name of a name is given to them by Bureau. it is the responsibility of the donors to see that the family recei.es the uncooked dinner. The dinner should be de-' livered during the week before Chrisimas, not Christmas Ere or Christmas Day.

A suggested list for the dinner includes turkey or canned ham. fresh fruits and vegetables. fruit cake or Christmas cookies. sweet or Irish potatoes, rolls. nuts.

hard candies. pickles and relishes. milk or jello. Some private individuals or groups may have a special family they want to help by provid-. ing a Christmas dinner.

Gribbs Heads Cities League INDIANAPOLIS. nd. (UP) 49th Congress of Cities demanded Thursday that the federal government impose noise pollution controls in areas surrounding airports. The delegates also reaffirmed their stand for strong gun control legislation at Thursday's closing session. and elected officers Preache sponsoring National of Cities (NLC).

Mayor Roman Gribbs of Detroit. who had supported the strong gun control was chosen unanimously as NLC president for the coming year. Los Angeles Councilman Thomas Bradley, a black. was elected first vice president. a position that normally, would lead to the presidency in 1973.

Mavor E. J. Garn of Salt Lake City. Utah. was elected second vice president.
