Mousley collapsed Tuesday while responding to a reported church fire in the 2800 block of Washington St. He died shortly after of a heart attack in Wilmington Hospital. Authorities said he had just returned to work after a bout with cancer. Mr. Mousley, who joined the fire department in 1971, was a senior firefighter assigned to Station 4 at 22nd and Tatnall streets.

He received three department commendations for helping rescue six people from a house fire, containing a stubborn house fire while temperatures hovered in the high 90s, and rescuing 30 people from a building fire. He was a member of the International Association of Firefighters Local 1590, Brandywine Club and Moose Lodge 847, Claymont. Survivors: wife of seven years, Patricia A. Mousley; stepsons, Christopher Woerner and Kevin Woerner, both of Newark, and James Woerner of Townsend; mother, Ruth Mousley of Wilmington; brother, Thomas L. of Wilmington; sister, Sharon K.

Contributions: American Cancer Society, New Castle 19720, or the American Heart Association, By MARY HAGER Staff reporter Victorine du Pont Homsey, an architect and the eldest member of the du Pont family, died Tuesday of heart failure in Cokesbury Village, Hockessin. She was 97. A daughter of Antoine Bider-man du Pont Jr. and Mary Ethel Clark du Pont, she was the great-great-granddaughter of DuPont Co.

founder Eleuthere Irenee du Pont. Mrs. Homsey and her husband, Samuel whom she married in 1929, moved from Boston to Wilmington in 1935 to open their own architectural firm. Among their notable designs are the Delaware Art Museum; the Copeland Lecture Hall at Winterthur Museum; the Palm House at JOSEPH T. HALL 60, died Wednesday of congestive heart failure at his home in Murray 'Manor, Stanton, his residence since 1992.

Mr. Hall, formerly of Gordy Es-tates, was a pipe fitter for about 10 years, retiring in 1980. Earlier, he had served in the Navy for more than 17 years, retiring in 1970 due to disability, with the rank of ship-fitter 1st class. He was a Vietnam --War veteran. He was past commander and chapter commander of the Disabled American Veterans and was a member of VFW Post 516 and Mill Creek Fire Company.

Mrs. Homsey's hobby was landscape gardening. She was re sponsible for the landscaping at her church, Irinity Episcopal Church; the Little Dutch House in New Castle; and the Mount Cuba wildflower garden. She was made a fellow of the American Institute of Archi tects in 1967. She served as chairwoman of the Restoration Committee of the Octagon House of the American Institute of Architects in Washington, and the advisory board ot the Historic American Buildings Survey.

In 1976, Presi dent Ford appointed her to the Washington fine Arts Commission. Mrs. Homsey was a founding member of the Delaware Center for Horticulture and was a member of the Greater Wilmington De velopment Council, Community House the Garden Club of Wilmington; and the National Society of Colonial Dames of America in Delaware. In 1997, the Victorine du Pont Homsey Scholarship Program was established by the Delaware Architecture foundation. Mr.

Homsey died in 1994. Survivors: another son, Coleman du Pont Homsey, of Wilmington; five grandchildren and a great-grandson; friend, Sarah Johnson of Dunleith, who helped care for her. JOSEPH C. YINGER, 78, of Cove Court, Woodland Farms, Eas- ton, died Wednesday in Memo rial Hospital at Easton. Mr. Yinger was a chicken farmer until he retired several years ago. He worked at Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore from 1946 to 1961.

He was a World War II Navy veteran. Burial: Maryland Veterans Cemetery ot the Eastern Shore, Beulah. JACK L.YOST, 68, of Dover, died Wednesday of pneumonia in Kent General Hospital. He moved from West Virginia to Dover 20 years ago. Mr. Yost was a physical therapist with the Army for 16 years before he retired in 1964.

He was a Korean War veteran. He was an appoint ment clerk at Dover Air Force Base Hospital for more than nine years. He was a member of the VFW posts in Milford and Camden, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Survivors: wife of 44 years.
