Smith was a driver for Nor-Jas Trucking Federalsburg. Survivors: son, William F. Smith II of Dover; daughter, Crystal Flamer of Dover; companion with whom he lived, Adrian Woolford; and four grandchildren. Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Calvary Baptist Church, Queen and Fulton streets, Dover.

Visitation: 1 1 a.m. school districts for more than 30 years. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. Survivors: wife of 25 years, C. Elaine Smith; son, Wayne J.B.

Smith of Salisbury, brother, Raymond L. Smith of St. Petersburg, sisters, Harriett S. Day of Jacksonville, Beryl S. Kennedy of Wakefield, and Rennie S.

Mrs. Oney was a custodian at the Stockley Center near Georgetown for about 10 years. She was a member of Trinity Faith Christian Center in Lewes, where she was a mother of the church. Contributions: American Cancer Society, MARY JANE LAWRENCE, 84, of Sun Rise Independent Living, Arlington, formerly of Wilmington, died Aug. 1 in Powhatan Nursing Home, Arlington. Mrs. Lawrence was a graduate of Margaret Morrison College, now part of Carnegie Mellon University, in her native Pittsburgh. She worked for several years as a dietitian for Pittsburgh's public health nurses.

She lived in Wilmington from 1947 to 1977 and was a longtime member of the American Association of University Women and was an early Head Start program volunteer, both in Wilmington. Survivors: husband of 59 years, Charles Lawrence; son, C. Bruce of Rochester, N.Y.; daughter, Carol Lawrence of Arlington; brother, Dr. David K. Atkinson of Pittsburgh; and two granddaughters.

Service and burial: private in Pittsburgh. VIOLET M. MARCUM, 77, of 394 Blueball Road, Elkton, died of heart failure Wednesday at Union Hospital. Mrs. Marcum, a homemaker, was a member of the Church of God, Elkton.

Her husband, Ted Marcum, died in 1973. Survivors: sons, Bobby Marcum, with whom she lived, and Ted Marcum of Elkton; sister, Frankie Up-perco of Perryville; brother, Arvil A. Main Elkton. Visitation: noon. Burial: Gilpin Manor Memorial Park. ELIZABETH BEEBE MARVEL, 88, of Highland Acres, Lewes, died Tuesday at home. Mrs.

Marvel taught school in Lewes after a two-year training program at the University of Delaware. She lived in New Brunswick, N.J., for several years before moving to Newark in the late 1950s and resuming her teaching career. She was the daughter of the late Dr. James Beebe, the co-founder of Beebe Hospital in Lewes. Her husband, James P.

Marvel, died in 1985. Survivors: sons, Dr. James P. Jr. of Lewes and Rehoboth Beach, and Joseph B.

of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sisters, Elsie Swezey, Jean Ingram and Margaret Williams, all of Lewes; brother, Dr. James Beebe Jr. of Rehoboth Beach; half brothers, Allen Beebe of Windsor, and William Beebe of Malvern, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Survivors: husband, James Mayo; son, Jerome, and daughter, Cynthia Mayo, both of Philadelphia; brothers, Leon Moore of Philadelphia and Donald Moore of Wilmington; sisters, Loretta Coley, Carleen Bannister and Delores Hoxter, all of Wilmington; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. She was a charter member of Red Lion Evangelical Free Church and was a Republican Party committeewoman in Red Lion Hundred. Her first husband, Edmund G. Taylor died in 1968. Her second husband, Archie J. Petersdorf, died in 1983.

Survivors: sons, Edmund G. Taylor address unknown, and Charles W. Taylor of Bear; daughter, Priscilla Paustian of Fleming-ton, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Service: 11 a.m. Monday, Red Lion Evangelical Free Church, 1400 Red Lion Road, Bear.
