PAGE EIGHT THE HOLLAND, MICHIGAN, EVENING SENTINEL FRIDAY, JUNE, 9, 1972 Mini-Vacations Offered In 'Super Spring' Drive GRAND RAPIDS, "West Michigan's Super Spring," a new campaign to promote off- season business has been lauch- ed and funded by the West Michigan Tourist Association. Designed to stimulate mini- holiday visits in June, the promotion will be continued for three years. An eight-panel folder will outline the events, activities and things to dp in the early season, according to Wesley B. Tebeau, president, West Michigan Tourist Association. "One of the main thrusts of the campaign is to develop more pre-summer season business after the skiers and snowmobil- ers run out of snow," Tebeau stated.

Implementing the assult will be "Super Spring" bumper and St. Joseph Art Fair Set for July 9 ST JOSEPH The St. Joseph Art Association, announces that the llth annual Art Fair will be July 9 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Rain date will be July 16.

It is a juried fair open to all artists 18 years and older and drawing crowds of more than 25,000 annually with free admission. The site of the fair, Lakefront Park, is one of the most beautiful parks on the shores of Lake Michigan. In addition to art displays, visitors and artists alike will be able to use the convenient food concession. Entertainment has been scheduled and there will be gaily colored flags hanging from the trees. luggage stickers, plus window bulletins.

"The strategy here is to offer a visual reminder of the success of this year's spring visit with an eye to develop comeback business in the future," Tebeau explained. A critical element in the venture is the production of a massive publicity campaign. Letterheads and envelopes bearing the "Super Spring" Logo have been produced to carry stories about the opening of the mushroom season; trout, camping, canoeingt, season and many others. A unique facet of the promo- iton is that all printed elements including the logo for newspaper advertisements can be personalized, permitting Michigan communities and resorts to plug into the campaign, Tebeau says. Cities, businesses and chambers of Commerce-all may add their strength and power to the attack thereby providing another merchandising demension.
