Members of the classes 1922, 1927, 1932, 1937, 1942, 1947 1952, 1957 and 1967 will hold af ternoon reunions. The class '27 will convene at Point Wes while the others will meet a Marigold Lodge, the college's conference center in Waukazoo Woods. The 50 year circle will meet at 5 p.m. in Phelps Hall The Alumni Day dinner wil begin at 6:30 p.m.

in the Phelps Hall dining room which was recently air conditioned. Keynote speaker at the dinner will be President-Elect Dr. Gordon J. Van Wylen. Presiding will be Alumni Association presiden John C.

Schrier of Muskegon. i i i Alumnus Awards will be presented to Mrs. Mina Becker Buys of Caledonia, Willard G. De Groot of Los Angeles, and Oliver Lampen, Ph.D. of New Brunswick, N.J.

Mrs. Buys, a 1936 graduate, has spent her energies in serving her family and their interests, her community and the Reformed Church in America in many ways. She recently completed a two-year term as president of the Women's City Club of Grand Rapids. Mrs. Buys has served on the Board of Directors of the Christian Guidance Center in Grand Rapids and was a member of the First National Women's Committee for Civil Rights organized in 1963 following the White House Conference which she attended as National President of Womens Department, Reformed Church in America.

She has been president of the Grand Rapids Guild, the Grand Rapids Classical Union and the Michigan Council. Mrs. Buys was general chairman of the 1969 Triennial National Assembly for RCA Women in Philadelphia. Dr. Lampen, a 1939 graduate, is director and professor of the Institute of Microbiology at Rutgers University.

Subsequent to his attainment of advanced degrees at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Lampen did research at the American Cyanamid Laboratories and was director of biochemical research at Squibb Institute for Medical Research. He received the Eli Lilly Award in Bacteriology and Immunology in 1952. Dr. Lampen's early career in biochemistry included assistant and associate professorships at Washington University a Western Reserve University schools of medicine.

Dr. Lampen's position places him in focus for international responsibilities in Ms field. In this role he has participated in international seminars, conferred with biochemists in Moscow, England, and Czechoslovakia, and lectured to the Netherlands Society for Microbiology. Mr. DeGroot, a 1939 graduate, is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards, Inc.

a Los Angeles investment firm. DeGroot holds an M.B.A. degree from Northwestern University. He served five years in the U.S. Navy, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Mr. DeGroot joined the Bate- rnan, Eichler Co. in April 1945; became vice president in 1952, executive vice president in 1957 and president in 1960. When his company merged with Bingham, Walter and Hurry in 1964, Mr. DeGroot was elected president of the merged companies.

In 1966 he was elected to his present position upon the further merger with Hill Richards and Co. Inc. Mr. DeGroot serves on the Board of Governors of the New York Stock Exchange. Three Boys, Two Girls Born in Holland, Zeeland Holland and Zeeland Hospital reported five babies born.

Born today in Zeeland was a daughter, Darcey Faye, to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Vruggink, Hudsonville. National Parks Travelog Is Featured at Library The weekly Family Film program at the Herrick Library will open Thursday evening at 7:30 with an hour long film, "America's Wonderlands: The National Parks." It explores the features of Yellowstone, Yosemite, Sequoia, Hawaii and Grand Canyon National Parks. It also covers the Everglades, Dinosaur National Monument on the Colorado-Utah border and Arizona's Canyon de Chelly National Monument.

The history and romance of Spain are depicted in the film, "To Catch a Dream." Teachers Honor Mrs. E. Damson With Dinner Holiday Inn was the scene of a dinner Thursday given in honor of Mrs. Edward' Damson who is retiring after 22 years of teaching in Michigan public schools. Mrs.

Damson has taught English and Latin in the E. E. Fell Junior High, and is presently a teacher of English at Holland High. Mrs. William Brownson gave a short tribute to the guest of honor before presenting her with a gift from the group.

Attending were women teachers from the junior and senior high schools as well as several retired teachers. Present were Joyce Bertrand, Helen Brownson, Natalie Bosman, Barbara Fleming. Film IsShown At Ki wan is Meet A dramatic film of the weeklong civil disturbance in Washington, D. a year ago was shown at a meeting of the Kiwanis Club Tuesday night at the Hotel Warm Friend. The movie, which was filmed of the attempt by thousands of youth and adults to take over various government buildings and functions, was prepared by the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington. Arrangements for presentation of the movie were made by Martin Hardenberg, program chairman. The invocation was given by Ronald Stepanek and club president Chester Smith presided at the meeting.

Shoe Prices Cannot Reflect More Profit WASHINGTON (UPI)-The Price Commission Tuesday told the shoe industry it may raise prices only to reflect increases in the cost of labor and material and may not add an ixtra amount for profit. The commission cut back price increase requests from eight of the nation's largest shoe companies and a spokesman said a similar policy statement would be issued for the entire industry within a week. Shoe prices have been rising because of increases in the cost of leather. With the theme "Spring Into Summer," the event will begin at 9 p.m.

Miles' has been presented with a life membership by the Sixth Judicial Circuit Conference at Cincinnati, Ohio. Judge Miles was a guest of Judge W. Wallace Kent of the U.S. Court of Appeals and was proposed for meinebrship after attending the conference five times. Miles was a member of the arrangements committee when the conference met on Mackinac Island in 1971.

Dr. Norman W. Rieck, associate professor of biology at Hope College, has recently been informed that his biography is to be included in the International Dictionary of Biography which is published in London Residents of Haven Park Nursing Center will hold their annual bazaar, Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the home on 285 North State Zeeland For nearly a year, residents have been preparing for the bazaar in their diversional activities program.

The Waverly Activity Club picnic will be held Friday at Kollen Park. A potluck supper is planned at 6:30 p.m. and members are reminded to bring their own table service. Paul Wassenaar Is Graduated From Law School Paul R. Wassenaar was among the graduating seniors at the Wayne State University Law School convocation held Saturday, May 20, in the Rackham Auditorium. Mr. Wassenaar who did his undergraduate work at Hope College and the University of Michigan, was selected by the Moot Court Board to receive an award for his freshman legal brief. For the past two years he has been serving on the editorial board of the Wayne Law Review, a legal publication whose 'members are chosen for their academic record.

Mr. Wassenaar also received the Schwartz Memorial Scholarship Award for his article on labor law which was published in the Law Review. Mrs. Lester Wassenaar, Steve and Janice of Holland spent the weekend in Detroit to attend convocation exercises. Marijuana Sentence Reversed by Court LANSING (UPD--The year sentence of a Cass County man for possession of marijuana has been lifted by the state Court of Appeals.
