LEONARD TARBUTTON, 85, of 206 Du Pont Circle, Villa Monterey, Penny Hill, died Sunday of heart failure in Wilmington Hospital. Mr. Tarbutton was a manager in the traffic department of the DuPont Co. in Wilmington, retiring in 1974 after 44 years.

He was a member of the DuPont Country Club. He served in Air Force Reserve, retiring in the mid-1960s with the rank of lieutenant colonel, and was a veteran of World War II. His first wife, Ann died in 1987. Survivors: wife of 10 years, Marion; son, Thomas R. of Upper Saddle River, N.J.; daughter, Patricia Ann Tarbutton of Towson, a grandson.

Memorial service: 11 a.m. today, Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 503 Duncan Road, Crag-mere. Contributions: Sunday Breakfast Mission, Wilmington 19801, or Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, Wilmington 19809. RUPERT ALBERT WALLEY, 85, of 2508 Amity Gastonla, N.C., formerly of New Castle, died Wednesday at home. Mr.

Walley had been a lab technician at Sun Oil Marcus Hook, Pa. for 25 years, retiring in 1973. Survivors: wife, Alfarata McEl-hatten Walley; sons, George T. of Gastonia, Dale A. of New Castle, and Dr.

Bruce D. of Winston-Salem; daughter, Cynthia Ann Mercer of Thompson, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Gracelawn Memorial Park, North Du Pont Highway, Min-quadale, Del. Visitation: 7 to 8 tonight, Carouthers Funeral Home, Gastonia.

JAMES P. REED, 87, of 18 Oregon Road, Wilmington, died Tuesday in Christiana Hospital. Mr. Reed was a welder at Container Corp. of America, Wilmington, for 25 years, retiring in 1975.

I FLETCHER SCOTT SEXTON, 78, of 301 Main Rising Sun, died Wednesday of respiratory failure in Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton. Mr. Sexton worked for 30 years in the maintenance department at Chrysler Newark, assembly plant, retiring in 1982.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors: wife, Laura Shupe Sexton; daughter, Janet Isennock of Street; sisters, Maude Faye of Portsmouth, and Maxine Blevins, Kate Farley and Florence Funk, all of Marion, 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. SZOSTKOWSKI, 80, of 426 S. Jackson Wilmington, died Feb. 23 of congestive heart failure in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, CiDAYS DNLVp Elsmere. Mr. Szostkowski worked at General Motors Boxwood Road plant for 25 years, retiring in the mid-1980s.

He was a World War II Army veteran. His wife, Mary E. Dennis Szostkowski, died in 1991. Survivors: son, Frank address unknown, Stephen of New Castle, and William of West Chester, daughter, Rosemarie Szostkowski, with whom he lived; brothers, Bernard B. of Smyrna, and Joseph of Wilmington; sister, Blanche Drozdowski of Hockessin; three grandchildren.

Memorial service: noon Friday, chapel in Cathedral Cemetery, Lancaster Avenue. Contributions: American Heart Association. BONNER P.TALLEY, 76, died Monday at his West Chester, home. Mr. Talley was an iron worker in the machine shop and maintenance department at Allied Chemical Co.

in Claymont, Del. He retired in 1983 after about 40 years. He attended Goldey-Beacom Business School. He served in the Army in Germany in World War II. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, West Chester.

Survivors: wife, Betty Wise Talley; sister, Edith Talley Green of Media. Service: 11 a.m. Friday, Founds Funeral Home, High and Union streets, West Chester. Visitation: 10 a.m. Burial: Green Mount Cemetery, West Goshen Township.
