Diggs, of Detroit for his recent decision to resign from the United Nations delegation in protest over South Africa's racial policies. The resolution was approved by a 68-31 vote after more than an hour of unusually vitriolic debate which focused on members of the Black Caucus and an outspoken Northern Michigan lawmaker who is a member of the ultra-conservative John Birch Society, Richard Friske, R-Charlevoix. A compromise amendment was adopted deleting a portion of the resolution which condemned "the hyprocritical policies of the United States government which condemn the Russian and Cuban dictatorships and yet support the same form of government in Portugal, Spain, Greece and Africa." the members Interesting stories about different pieces of her collection which she started about 1930. There are many patterns of pressed glass and she stressed that a collector must know what to look for in reproductions or she might buy one thinking it was the real pressed glass. Many reproductions are made from the- original molds and this makes it hard to distinguish the difference.

She used wine glasses as an example of this. She had purchased the original pressed glass but believes one of them is a reproduction and asked the members to try to distinguish which one. A good thing to watch for is the pressed bottom of an article but now the reproductions are also being manufactured with this. When Mrs. Vanderbush started her collection one could buy complete sets of pressed glass and it was easy to obtain.

Pressed glass was once given as premiums in stores and peddled door to door. It was also a favorite item in catalogues. Pressed glass comes in many colors and each color has gone through a period of being a favorite collectors item.
