W. Van Buren, Mrs. J. De Graiaf, Mrs D. Hartgerink Elaine Beck- voorst sang "Bringing in the Sheaves" to close the skit.

Mrs. Carroll is a graduate of Hope College and taught school in Grand Rapids for four years. She is presently teaching in Aruba. Mrs. Carroll was graduated from the College of Engineering at the University' of Colorado and is with the Lago Oil and Transport Aruba, Netherlands West Indies.

VFW Auxiliary Gives Party for Veterans Several members of the local VFW Auxiliary entertained at a party in the Veterans Facility in Grand Rapids Wednesday evening Christmas gifts were presented to the auxiliary's two "adopted" veterans and one also received a birthday gift. Two bushels of apples were included in the refrsh- ments sponsored by the local group. Cigarettes also were given to the veterans. About 160 men and women attended the party. Attending from the local unit were Mrs John Matchinsky, Mrs.

Peter Boersema, Miss Phyllis Boersema. Mrs Frank and Mrs. Paul Dalman. Four new members were added to the VFW Auxiliary at the business meeting which took place at the annual Christmas party in the VFW Post home on Dec. 27.

Three also were reinstated. The evening was spent socially with a gift exchange and refreshments. Dedicatory services this week for the new First Reformed Church, located on State and 26th Sts will be concluded tonight with a Community Open House when all residents of Holland and vicinity are invited to a program in the church auditorium at 8 m. and a tour of the new building afterwards Greetings will be presented by Dr. Jrwm Lubbers, president of Hope College: Dr.

Linda Smith, 11-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs. Robert Smith, 77 East 18th St, returned Monday to Blodgett Memorial Hospital, Grand Rapids, where she underwent surgery Wednesday. She will remain in the hospital for several weeks, after which she will be home. Mr and Mrs. Joe Boers, route 3, returned Tuesday evening from a two-week vacation in Miami and Lake Worth, Fla.

Loren K. Boerman, 112 East 22nd will begin six months of active duty training on Monday at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Mrs. Walter Adamaitis of 310 Washington Ave, left today for New Britain, where she was called by the death of her sister, Mrs John Lynch who died Wednesday evening. Mrs. Lynch, a former resident of Holland, left Holland about six years ago. She made her home with Mr.

It is no surprise to anyone who knew her then, to know that she has become a successful illustrator of books about horses and a painter of horse portraits--not just any horse, but the champions in the field Now Mrs Arthur D. Draper Jr. and living in Tampa.

Fla Angie was kept busy illustrating a newly published book by Walter Farley on "Man 0' Wdr" and showing her paintings of horses. After leaving a Mrs. Draper studied at the Rmglmg School of Art in Sarasola, Fla She did freelance drawing and painting in Florida specialuing in race horses and stall ions Among the paintings she has done for their owners are portraits of Sword Dancer, Horse of the Year and Bally Ache, Horse of the Year. She has also painted portraits of Joppy with her last foal Joppy is the mare that produced the famous Carry Back Waller Farley, author of the Black Stallion scries and other books about horses met Mrs Draper and was so impressed with her that he gave her the opportunity to illustrate his latest book "Man 0' War," just published Angie is married to Arthur Draper Jr of Tampa, Fla and they have two daughters. The career of the young artist has been followed with much interest by many Holland residents, including Mrs.
