The game started with the entire membership taking part, but elimination had made it a contest for survival of the fittest among these larger scouts when this photo was made.

Troop 61 meets each Friday night at 7:30 o'clock in the Inglewood Methodist Episcopal Church on Gallatin Pike. It three years old, has two patrols with 15 members, and is staging a renewal ol activity under Scoutmaster W. M. Ingram. Eight of the troop's fifteen members have first class ratings.

Ml of Gallatin has -registered for the second" year. This troop. fostered by the Gallatin Kotary club waa unusually, fortunate In securing; the aervices of Georg" Colllna aa scoutmaster. Mr. Collin built the troop from a humble beginning to an even thirty acorns before the laat charter expired and la now re-registering twenty-one for the year 1936.

Reams uooaioe, ecrioo HILL McALISTER TROOP A new troop of boy scouts is being organised at the State Training School, to be called the H1U Mc-Allster troop. Bach Wednesday night John Ozler, Parker Smith. Frank Wltherspoon, Jamea Grib-ble, Edwin Hughes and Kenneth Hessey go to the school to bold troop meetings and to bear the tests. Laat Wednesday night Scoutmaster Parker Smith gave the boys an explanation of the meaning of scouting, and Just what the scouts are expected to do. After the patrols were arranged to meet the Inspection of the scoutmaster, James Gribble conducted an O'Grady drill followed by games.

Our leaders promised to bring out handbooks at the next meeting sad that they would give aa scout badges Just as soon as the troop is organized. TROOP I Scoutmaster Edwin Hughes had charge of the meeting Friday night at the War Memorial building, and during the busmess meeting we checked up on the contents of our tressury. We were tickled to find that we had comfortable wad of folding money and we discussed building a troop cabin when the purse gets larger and the weather more open. Scoutmaster Hughes announced that the prizes which were to be awarded at the conclusion of our contest would be given out at the next meeting.

Glllam led In the scoutmaster's benediction at the end. Charles Mott, scribe. TROOPS 81, 52 AND 57, T. I. Troops 51, 52, and 57 held a Joint meeting at the Tennewe Industrial school Thursday night.

The purpose was to hear a good story which one of the men delivered to the delight of the scouts. Troop 57 opened the meeting with the scout oath and Winston Martin boxed the compass. It was announced that eight of our first and second -class scouts had a swim In the swimming pool on Wednesday. We planned a hike for next Friday and the scout leaders announced tl'nt they would take only those who had pasaed their tenderfoot tests. The candidates cannot go on the hike.

TROOP Laat Friday we brought three new members into the troop and the patrol leaders chose them. Billy Lowery was chosen on Oerrge ltaymers patrol, and Howard Martin and J. C. Miller were chosen on W. A.

Poteets' patroL Quite a few passed tests on the second-class requirements and the new members went on with their tenderfoot tests. The standing la the points for the best patrol are: George Ray trier's and W. A. Potetta 60. Next Friday we will be Initiated by Troop It as a full fledged scout troop and badges will be presented.

Sterling Edwards. Scribe. TROOP 112, TULUAHOMA A session of the court of honor was held last Wednesday night for the benefit of scouts of Troop 112 of Tullahoma. The Rev. R.

B. Thompson, our scoutmaster was present and served as secretary' the meeting and as advisor of the court. E. V. Cole, chairman, presided.

The following scouts were presented with the first -doss pint George Oraw, Billy Paris, Lloyd Prince, E. B. Thoma, Jr, and Jack Walker. The second-class badge was presented to William Sanders. Merit badges were awarded to BUI Sanders.

TROOP 2 Senior Patrol Leader Hugh Cook led la the scout oath and after roll call the Eagle and Rattlesnake patrols held meetings when Assistant Scoutmaster Beverly Brlley met the troop In the North End Baptist church Friday night Mr. Brlley again reviewed every part of the scout law and assigned testa for the various scouts to bring up at the next meeting. During the advancement period several tests were passed and a group worked on signaling and another group oa flrst-ald. The Eagle patrol called an extra patrol meeting to outline and fivo over the parts to a play to be gives by our troop at the church during Scout week.

The Rev. O. F. Huckaba made a talk and after the senior patrol leader closed the meeting we had a Kangaroo court for some scouts who talked out of turn. Marvin Morgan blew taps and we left Letcher Murphy.

TROOPM Our troop has planned to build A new cabin and this was the high point of Interest In our troop meeting Thursday night when Scoutmaster Ernest Hardlson called the troop together at the T.

I. B. Mr. Hardlson is furnish lng the land and the logs and will assist In getting the cabin up. We just don't know what we would do without Scoutmaster Hardlson and we can't repay him.

The troop welcomed Earl Hooks, a new first class scout who joined at this meeting. Elton Tarkington, Bcrib TROOP 17 We met at the cabin early for the big feast which was to given to the winning patrol In the toy-collecting contest It was feast to the Beaver patrol which won. This patrol had chicken while the other patrola munched on welnera and watched sorrowfully. When we were through we proceeded into the cabin and went to patrol corners. Harold Hopton'a resignation as trooo scribe was ac cepted and Bob Seals was elected to this place.

Troop 17 is fostered by the Park Avenue Baptist church and meeta at the troop cabin. Scout Leaders L. K. Jackson and J. Booth are in charge.

TROOP 27 When Scoutmaster Ross Moores met Troop z7 at the Belmont Methodiat church the patrol lead ers assembled the patrols and took them on a hike which was made interesting with the usual play period which precedes the meet ing. Each patrol went In a different direction. An inter-patrol contest on mamng a fire without matches wa won by the Hyena patrol led by Robert Herlges.
