The Gregory Gcbhort stock sale at his Hanover farm was but poorly attended Friday when items brought only average prices. It is believed the intense cold was the cause of slim attendance. The Gebharts formerly lived near here. Dean and Lanny Oberlander have been confined to their home by illness. Mrs.

Paul March is able to be about, although not fully recovered from an illness which kept her housebound for several weeks. There will be no window delivery after 9 a. m. Christmas, at the post office. The lobby will be open nil day for box holders.

There will be no rural delivery. Miss Helen Wallace, teacher at. Barren's school, sponsored an appropriate program at. the schoolhouse Tuesday evening. Mrs.

Leroy Eisenhnrt is recuperating after undergoing a major operation at the West, Side Sanitarium, York, several days ago. Mrs. Eisen hnrt. must stav in the hospital for over week. Seaman Walter Morrison visited his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Donald Morrison, on Route Two. Mrs. Henry Gochenour is improved after a week's illness which confined her to bed. Her husband, who also had been confined to the home, is also improved.

Miss Katharine Sinner was guest, of Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Penslnger, York. Markle returned to her home, near Kralltown, after a visit with her grandmother, Mrs.

Gertrude Inter, who is somewhat improved after an illness. Private John E. Gentzler, Fort Knox, spent the week-end here Mr. and Mrs. John Alt land, near York, were guests of her parents Mr.

Charles LeRoy Eisenhart, of this place, who Is stationed in North Carolina with the Marines, was cajl- ed home due to the illness of his mother, who is improving following an operation performed at the Westside sanitorlum, York. 1, who has been stationed at Camp Belvoir, has been confined to the base hospital for the past eight weeks, following an operation. He expects to be discharged from the hospital in the near future and intends to spend a furlough at the home of his parents. Patricia Ann Gross, 14-months- old daughter of Seaman and Mrs. Irvin Gross. East Berlin, was discharged Tuesday from the Hanover General hospital.

The infant was admitted to the hospital Monday, when she became ill after swallowing a quantity of talcum powder. Her father is stationed in Chicago with the Navy. Prof. Fred V. Baker has arrived from Rahway, N.

to spend the Christmas holidays with his wife and children, who since Thanksgiving have been guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cleason E. Smith, here. The Bakers will also be guests.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis D. Spangler 1 -ed a family dinner in honor of ir son, Harold, who left for Salt City, Utah, Saturday, where he is stationed with the -Armv Air Corps. He recently graduated as a pilot at Twin Engine Flying school, Moody Field, where he was commissioned a flight officer He was accompanied home by his wife, who had been visiting him at camp.

All of the above will be held in the Protectory Chapel. MARRIAGES J. E. Roberts, Irvine, has announced the marriage of his daughter, Zelma, to Harry E. Spangler, Nashville, formerly of Ab- bott.stown.

The ceremony took place in the First Baptist, church, Nashville, on December 4, with Dr. W. F. Powell, pastor, officiating. The couple will reside in Nashville.

Mr. Spangler, who formerly conducted a restaurant In Abbottstown, is connected with Tennessee Aircraft, Inc. He is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. G.

Holly Springs, were united in marriage in Baltimore, Thursday. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Harry S. Ecker, Gettysburg, pastor of the Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian church. The couple was attended by Mrs.

Ecker and Mrs. Helen Cunningham McCullough, Fairfleld. Mr. and Mrs. Yates will reside at Mt.

Menges--Tronn Miss Mary Anne Trone, daughter of Mrs. Annie E. Trone, Thonmsville, and Pfc. John Menges, son of Mr. and Mrs.

C. J. Menges, York, were married Saturday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the parsonage of Bethany Reformed church, York. The double ring ceremony was performed by the pastor, the Rev. John H.

Sando. Both Pfc. and -Mrs. Menges are graduates of the West York high school, class of 1939. Pfc.

Guy Musselman will celebrate the eighteenth anniversary of their marriage on Christmas Day. Luther A. Yohe, veteran teacher in the East Berlin schools, returned to his duties after being ill for several days. During his absence the classes were instructed by Ernest W. Hoffman, of Route One, former teacher of Darr's school.

There will be no Bible Study at, Paradise Lutheran (Holtzschwamm) church tonight (Friday) duo to the Christmas program which will be held in the church at 7:15 o'clock. The installation, of the newly elected church council members will be held Sunday. December 26, at 10:30 a. and the retiring councllmen will be honored with a special gift. The East Berlin high school varsity dropped a 21-19 decision to the Manchester (York county) high passers in an overtime game played Friday in East Berlin. Rarns Albert Sipling Albert Sipling. octogenarian, died Wednesday afternoon at the home i of his daughter. Mrs. Noah Shire- Fire companies from East, Berlin, DILLSBURG man. in Hanover.

Death was due to a heart- condition. He was aged 82 vears. Mr. Sipling was a son of the late Bhilip and Sarah White Sip- ting, and was born January 5, 1861. He was a member of St.

Paul's Lutheran church, New Baltimore. His wife, who before marriage was Amanda Luckenbaugh, preceded him In death on July 1. Surviving are Cleason Clinton Cromer, Dillsburg. and C. Anna Smith, Wellsville.
