Monday signed an order consolidating a section of land in McKinley county for uranium mining by the Kerr- McGee Corp. The order must be; aDDroved by the District Court of McKinley County oetore becomes effective. The order was entered under a law passed by the 1967 legislature, which allows such "consolidation" similar to the "pooling" done for oil wells when land is in numerous ownerships. The order followed a bearing Porter held several weeks ago in which Kerr-McGee showed had obtained mining leases from owners of more than 60 per cent of the acreage but had been unable to even locate owners of some of the tracts. The land had been subdivided into half-acre tracts in the 1930s and aold to persons throughout the country.

The order gives the firm a mining lease on the entire section. Terms, according to Porter, are substantially the same as the leases which Kerr-McGee already has obtained on most oi th land.
