Air Force Commendations Awarded To 16 Tyndall Men Air Force Commendation Medals, and Oak Leaf Clusters to the same medal have been announced for 16 Tyndall military men. TOP SCHOLAR Joe Mitchell of Tyndall AFB was named the outstanding scholar in the class of 19 graduating from the Gulf Coast Community College's Florida Police Standards Recruit Training Course. He was presented a special plaque of recognition by Charles Abbott, director-coordinator for the Florida Law enforcement assistance center. ART AUCTION SATURDAY The general public is invited to attend the Art Show and Auction being sponsored Saturday by the Tyndall AFB Officers' Wives' Club. The show will be held at the Officers Club starting at 7 p.m.

The auction at 8:30 p.m. Works of art by such masters as Picasso, Dali, Neiman, Miro, Chagall and many others will be on display. The collection to be offered consists of original lithographs, etchings, and graphics signed and numbered by many of the world's most renowned artists. There will also be an enriching array of watercolors and original oil paintings from all parts of the world. NEW INSTRUCTORS First Lieutenants Earl Szydlowski and Frank Jokinen have been assigned to the 3625th Training Squadron as basic manual weapons controller instructors.

Both will teach officer and enlisted personnel in basic air defense tactics, organization of the air defense system and procedures used in tactical environment. Lieutenant Szydlowski came to Tyndall from Thailand while Lieutenant Jokinen reported in from Alaska. Chipola Offers Lyric Soprano MARIANNA Chipola Junior College and Florida State University will present lyric soprano Yvonne Ciannella in recital Tuesday, April 22, at 8:00 p.m. in the College Auditorium. Miss Ciannella is a native New Yorker who has pursued a highly successful singing career on both sides of the Atlantic.

After graduation from Queen's College, Miss Ciannella performed, toured and recorded as soprano soloist with the Robert Shaw Chorale. A Fullbright grant for advanced study at the Mozarteum in Salzburg began an extended stay in Germany, during which. she was successively a member of the permanent opera companies in Bonn, Braunschweig and Dortmund. Also in demand as a visiting artist in the other leading opera houses of the continent. Miss Ciannella has sung principal roles in some thirty major operas, and has appeared in operatic and concert performances in Stuttgart, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Berlin and Vienna.

Returning to the United States in 1968, Miss Ciannella has been a member of the artist-faculty at Florida State University for the past five years. In addition to her busy teaching schedule, she has appeared with the Florida State Opera as Madam Butterfly, Suor Angelica and Leonora in "II and has found time for a number of guest appearances in concerts and recitals, including performances with the Atlanta Symphony as soloist in Britten's "War The public is cordially invited. Senator Chiles' Representative To Hear Citizen Complaints Bay County residents who are experiencing problems with federal government agencies can present their cases to a representative of Senator Lawton Chiles on Wednesday, April 16.
