Gavin Maloof said business is "better than anticipated," which has forced the 100-room hotel and 25,000 square-foot gaming area to expand. "We're really the talk of the town these days," said Malocf in a phone interview from his Las Vegas office.

"The locals have loved us. We're in an area that has 180,000 people within a 5-mile radius of our casino. They don't have to go to the strip and battle the crowds and the traffic. They enjoy our casino and they have really loved the food." Maloof said the Gardufios restaurant inside the casino has been a home run for his hotel. "Our food and beverage sales are double what we anticipated," he said.

"We'll be expanding the buffet and adding some storage in the back. We've been having to store food in trailers in the back to keep up with the demand." The rest of the expansion will include adding a race book to the existing sports book, an entertainment lounge, 200 to 300 more slot machines and a larger pit area to add more table games. Maloof said he expects the work to begin within the next 30 days. The project will take about six months to complete, he said.
