-MOUNT HOPE (RNS) -Mrs Maggie Houchins of. MarthsvUie and formerly of Mount Hope' visited over the weekend wiih her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Duncan. Mr.

and Mrs. R. L. (Bill) McGraw and daughters, Brenda and Donna, of Miami, formerly of Mount Hope, are visiting his mother, Mrs. Pearl McGraw and her grandmother, Mrs.

Clyde Smith of Bradley. McGraw is connected with the Eastern Air Lines in Miami, Fla. Visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert McGraw are their sons-in-law and daughters, Mr and Mrs.

Jack Durham and sons, Jackie and Jeffrey, of Atlanta, and Mr. and Mrs. James Munsey and sons', James Jr. Jerry of Columbus, Ohio; and their daughter, Mrs. Irma (Midge) Leadingham of Atlanta, Ga.

Mrs Durham is the former Ileda Mc- 1 Graw. They are all former Mount Hope residents. Mrs. Madge Tissue -returned from, an extended visit with her sister, Mrs. Ida Carper of Artesia, N.

M. While away she also visited with Mr. and Mrs Peter Snyder and Mr. and Mrs Pat Chiton, both of San Diego and other relatives. Mrs.

Snyder is the former Virginia Tissue and Mrs. Chiton, the former Dorothy Tissue, both formerly of Mount Hope. Altering Synodical Training School at Davis and Eikins College at Elkins this week are Mrs Charles Harnsbarger, District i Chairman of Women of Bluestone Presbytery; Mrs. Jack Keatley, president of the Women of the Mount Hope Presbyterian Church- and Mrs. W.

B. Poling. Mr. and Mrs. C.

R. Harnsbarger at Blackwater Falls Saturday enroute to Elkins, and Sunday at Davis' and Elkins College, his Alma Mater, before he returned home. In honor of Father's Day, a family: dinner was held at'the home of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Dillon.

The Father's Day graces were bestowed upon George Cody by his son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs; Carl Cody of Beck, ley, and his sons-in-law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Cody Burnotte of Mr. and Mrs.

John Burgess of Richwood; and Mr. and Mrs. Dillon of Mount Hope. Equal honors were given to Virgil Dillon by his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs Virgil A.

Dillon of Halifax, Va and to young Virgil A. Dillon by bis young Ann. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bob r'oss and family of Kilsyth are her brother, Enoch Dailey of Milton; his brother and sister-in-law', Mr: and Mrs.

Ansted Briefs ANSTED (RNS) Visiting with Raymond Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Skaggs Tuesday were Mr. ad Mrs. Cleome Morris and children, Peggi and Ricky, of Sandusky, Ohio.

The Morrises also visited their son and daughter-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Morris at Oak Hill, and Mr. and Mrs D. Ellison in Charleston and with other relatives while on vacation in this area.

The Morrises are former residents of Winona. COMMODITIES SLATED RONCEVERTE (RNS) Commodities will be given out at the old Post Office room in Ronceverte June 26, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. by the Ronceverte Woman's Club. Women's Mission Society Holds Meeting At Church MOUNT HOPE (RNS) Members of the Women's Mission Society of-the Mount Hope Baptist Temple held their quarterly meeting in the Fellowship Hall of the Church Tuesday evening.

Mrs. J. C. Gwinn, president, welcomed members arid the guests, Mrs. Tom Graff and L.

A. Lewallen. Mrs. W. C.

Ward gave the opening prayer. During the business session, a donation was given for Valley Forge. Members were urged to attend the Women's Conference to be held at Alderson Broaddus College in Philippi, July 24-27 Mrs. Robert Lilly, first vice president, presented a talk on the pro men's Conference. A report was made on the rummage sale held in April and May.

A nominating committee will include Mrs. Hazel Samples, Mrs. A. L. Walker, Mrs.

C. Robert Angove, Mrs. Don Humphrey and Mrs. Fan Richeson. It was reported that family life materials were distributed during a week in May.

An invitation was extended to attend an open house Tuesday evening from 7 to 10 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Denver Arnold in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. The meeting was closed and the program presented by the Philathea Circle.

Mrs. John Brady presented Changing City Challenges The Church," with discussions by Mrs. Blanche Davis, Mrs. Eva Cope and Mrs. Humphrey.

The hymn, "Where Cross the Crowded Ways of Life," was sung by the group. Mrs. E. F. Mann gave the scripture reading.

The dedication prayer was given by Mrs. Lillian Davis. Guest speaker was L. A. Le- ALDERSON (RNS) Robert Elmer Riner, 81, died Wednesday at 12:30 a.m.

in a Ronceverte hospital after a long illness. Born July 14, J.881, in Red Sulphur Springs, he was the son of the late William and Sara Green Riner. He was a farmer for many years at Wayside until his retirement 13 years ago when lie moved to Alderson. He was a member of Center- vilie Presbyterian in Greenville. He was past worshipful master of Indian Creek Lodge No.

72, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons at Greenville, past worthy patron of No. 119, Order of Eastern Star at Alderson, was president of the Bank of Greenville for many years, and was vice president of First National Bank of Peterstown for many years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Boone Riner; two Corbett of Ronceverte and James R. Riner of Huntington; and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Presbyterian Church at Alderson with the Rev. Elwel Roberts and the Rev. P. H.

McKain in charge. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery af Union. The body will be taken from Broyles Funeral Home in Union to the home at Alderson at 4 p.m. today and to the church one hour prior to the funeral. Members of the Indian Creek Ixxlge will serve as pallbearers and conduct graveside rites.

Women of the Eastern Star and the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Alderson Methodist Church will carry flowers. Montgomery MONTGOMERY (RNS) A father and son banquet was held Sunday from 6:30 p. m. until 7:30 at the St. John Baptist Churcn on Morris Drive.

Burdette's Rites Completed ALDERSON (RNS) Mrs. Grace Jones Burdette, 78, died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at her Vome. She is a member of the Greenbrier Baptist'Church in Alderson and was born in Ronceverte on Nov. 23, 1884.

Her husband, Robert 0. Burdette, preceded her in death several years ago. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Trinton Jones.

Rotert Stowers and sow. Robert and James, of San are visiting his mother, Mrs. Thelma Stowers of Picnic Is Slated By Church Group LEWISBURG The Henning Church of God Missionary Society met in the home of Mrs. Herman. Lilly at Lewisburg Tuesday night.

The meeting was opened by the president, Mrs. Robert Hefner, with a short story, "Peace With God," followed by prayer by Miss Martha Lee Loudermilk. Minutes were read of the last meeting by Mrs. Lilly, secretary; Devotions were given by Mrs. Jack Dunn.

The treasurer's report was given by Miss Betty Lou Byers and she collected the dues, offerings, and "Penny-a-Day'- calendars. Bible questions were by Miss Martha Lee Lpudermilk. The society made plans for a rummage sale to be held at the John A. Preston i House July 5 and 6. Plans were discussed for contributing to the State Missionary Society project of blacktopping the floor of the State Camp Meeting tabernacle at Charleston.

The society agreec to give $10 to be presented on Missionary Day of the a Camp Meeting July 18. Plans for the Society's annual family picnic were- made. The picnic will be at Blue Bend July 9 at 7 p.m. An ice cream supper will be sponsored by the group on the church lawn July 25, beginning at 7 pjn. Betty Lou Metheney, Guild steward, led the opening prayer, A report, of the West Virginia Fellowship Guild House Party No 2, held at West Virginia Baptist Camp, Cowen June l(M2th was given by Linda Metheney.

Dorcas Guild members who had attended were Carol Kessler, Brenda Mary Beth Creger and Linda Metheney. Program materials for the coming year had been purchased from the book store there. Requirements for Membership in Fellowship Guild were reviewed by the Guild chairman. Copies of the requirements were given to the younger girls of the group. The group voted to contribute one dollar to the Alma Noble Scholarship Fund.

Suzanne Dunaway of Clarksburg is the recipient of Scholarship this year. Due to the fact that Linda Meadows. Guild scribe, had enlisted in the Woman's Marine Corps, a vacancy in this office was noted. Elected to serve as Guild scribt was Mary Beth Creger. Mrs. M. Lambert Dies In Hospital PRINCETON (RNS) Mrs. tfollie Green Lambert, 80, died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday in a Bluefield hospital.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church. April 9, 1883 in Giles County, Va. she was a daughter of the late Lafe and Fennie Champ. She was preced- in death by her husband, John W. Lambert, in 1955.

Survhrors include one son, Cleo Champ of Princeton; one foster son, Malcom Champ; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 Friday in the Burns of Memorial Funeral'Director with Dr. L. B. Huston in charge.
