Governor Calls Meeting On Radio Observatory BUCKLEY POST-HERALD, BUCKLEY, W. THURSDAY MORNING, MARCH 20, 195(5 THIKTJiliN MARLINTON, March 28 C. Marland --Governor William announced a meeting in Charleston on. April 2 with representatives ot the Natural Science Fou.idalton o( Associated Universities, members of the.Legis- lature and other interested groups to discuss the location of the proposed radio of Astronomical Observatory in Pocahon- County. Representatives from (he Legislature, will include Ralph Beane, president of tfie Senate: W.

E. Flannery, speaker of the House- Senator Fred C. Allen of the Senatorial District; and Delegate Frank P. McLaughlin of Pocahcn- tas County. The governor emphasized that this meeting does not mean that the giant project has been definitely located in West Virginia, although he said lie hoped that such an agreement can reached in the meeting next Monday.

Options have been taken en more than 4,000 acres of land would be required (or Ihe Observatory, described as the. nations tirst major radio astronomy center. The Fovudation has been impressed, Governor Marland said, with the progress made lo date to determine the fitness of West Virginia as the site for the project. The section receiving primary consideration for Ihe Observatory is the Gmu Bank-Arborvale section ot Pocahontas Counly. It is said that the'project will be greatly expanded sometime in (he near future.

Tables arranged in the home economies room' were decorated with arrangements of jonquils and greenery in crystal bowls and flanked by yellow candles in crystal holders, carrj'ing out the colors of the club, yellow and green. The banquet opened with the pledge of allegiance to the flag and the song America sung by the group.

Hogsetl, president of the Mothers Club, welcomed the guests in behalf of the club. The response was given by Evelyn Sliller of the senior class in behalf of the students. A program of piano music was presented Evelyn Miller, Becky "Craig and Nancy after I. L. Mitchell introduced ttie students to the club members.
