Elmer McCarty Dies In Nicholas SUMMERSVILLE (RNS) Elmer H. McCarty, 94, of Craigsville died in a Webster Springs hospital at 2 a.m. Thursday after a long illness.

He was an 80-year resident of Nicholas County, a former postmaster Craigsville, and merchant in a former director and stockholder in the Farmers and Merchant Bank in Summersville and a stockman. A charter member of the Alderson Baptist Church at Craigsville, he was a teacher of an adult Sunday school class for 40 years. His wife preceded him in death four years ago. 7, 1874, he was the son of the late Henry H. and Myra Jane McCarty.

Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Carter of Craigsville, Mrs. Letha Heal of Summersville and Miss Beulah McCarty, at home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Alderson Baptist Church at Craigsville with Rev.

MrtcbeU Dies; Rites Slated GAULEY BRIDGE (RNS) Carl T. Mitchell, 59, died Wednesday night in a Montgomery hospital after a long illness. He was an employe of Union Carbide Metals at Alloy for 29 years and a member of Gauley Bridge Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Louise; a daughter, Mrs. Carla Walker of Dunbar; an adopted son, Eric, at home; a brother, Howard of Fayetteville, and a half brother, Eugene McGraw of Summersville.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Combs Funeral Home Chapel at Gauley Bridge with Rev. Richard kelson in charge. Burial will je in Huse Memorial Park at Pa vpftp villp Jf dlC Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.

Rainelle Area Rate Increase Is Okehed In Rainelle Water System CHARLESTON The West Virginia Public Service Commission has acted on an application from the West Virginia Water Co. to increase rates and charges for furnishing water service from the company's East Rainelle system.
