Walter Arthur Thursday evening. Graydon Items GRAYDON (RNS) John Dixon, son of J. Wheeler Dixon, has completed four years enlisted time with the Air Force and is visiting at his home here. Dixon came here from Hunter Air Force Base in Savannah, Ga. His enlisted time was spent at the base following basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.

He was graduated from Ansted High School. James 0. Smith, son-in-law of Mrs. J. Wheeler Dixon has completed five years enlisted time with the Navy.

He was stationed for three years at Sanford, Fla. Smith has re-enlisted for an additional four years. School Building Leased For Oceana Boys Club Installation Rites Held By OES At Quinwood QUINWOOD RNS)--New officers of Quinwood Chapter No. 129, Order of Eastern Star, were installed at a meeting held Thursday evening in the Quinwood Masonic Hall. The building is now under lease to the club. Hassell Blackburn, representing the Oceans Town Council, and Fred Lokant, city attorney, drew up the lease which was approved by members of the council and signed by Griffith of the Boys Club. It was reported that Mayorj Ivan Daniels had, after a two- month search, succeeded in obtaining a carnival which, sponsored by the Boys Club, will be Oceana from June 23-28. Members of the club as well as most Oceana business establishments are selling tickets. Joe Carter resigned as treasurer of the board because he is enrolled in a heavy equipment school in North Carolina.

William Martin of Kopperston was elected to replace him. It was announced the first of weekly square dance lessons for Boys Club members and their girl friends and sisters were conducted last Friday by Cleve Lester of Kopperston. The first session was well attended by the young people and their parents. The lessons will be held every Friday beginning at 7 p.m. A report was made on the work recently completed by the city.

The area where the old school gymnasium was located has been levelled by a grader and equipment and sawdust pits for high-jumping, broad-jupip- ing, pole-vaulting, hurdle-racing, knoll to make possible an oval- shaped track which can be used for foot, bicycle and go-cart racing. The board members discussed the reluctance of the parents and friends of members of the Boys Club to make the small effort necessary to visit the club tp see exactly what is happening "on the hill." The club sponsor, "Dutch" Miller has at all times urged parents and towns people to aspect and visit the club at any nme. Couple Observes 55th Anniversary ARTIE (RNS)--Mr. and Mrs. Mose Stover observed their 55th wedding anniversary Friday.

St. Elias region. Army Captain Awarded Senior Aviator's Badge CAPT. JACK SANFORD Class Honors Members EAST RAINELLE (RNS) Capt. Jack W.

Sanford, company officer of Company (Rifle) 20th Infantry, stationed at Sihung-ni, Korea, has been awarded the Senior Aviators Badge. Sanford is the son of Mrs Virginia Tignor of East Rainl elle. To qualify for the badge Captain Sanford has hours of flying time (minimum required is 1,500) with at least seven years of military flying and possesses a current rcent rating. Captain Sanford joined the Marine Corps in June, 1945 OI basic training at Parris Island, S. C.

After completing his tour with the Marines, he entered the Army and received his commission as second lieutenant Infantry, through Officers Candidate School in Bible Class meeting at her home Thursday evening. Special guests at the meeting were Mrs. Mammie Robinson and Mrs. Mary Reed, members. They were presented gifts from the class with Mrs.
