TWENTY I A Colorful Dedication Of Football Field Planned RONCEVERTE, Oct. 21--With the dedication of the new Island Park lighted football field for Friday night practically assured, students and cooperating city organizations are planning a colorful program for Friday night. A queen will be crowned, the anniul homecoming game will be and plans are being made to welcome the largest attendance ever experienced in a loca athletic event. Miss Jackie Prilliman will be crowned "Queen of the Greenbrier" in a half-time ceremony as part of the Greenbrier High school homecoming festivities. The local high school team will play Lewisburg under conditions which judging from the records of both teams this season, promise to be one of the closest matches in many years.

te school students will hold 3 snake dance on the streets of Rqnceverte tonight and join in building a gigantic bonfire on the Island in preparation for the homecoming game Friday night, Principal Domenick Guadino has announced. Installation of the lights on the Island Park stadium is near completion, and Ralph Ballard, electric installation contractor says they will be all set for Friday night activities. The lights are being raised on eighty-foot poles which.arrived by truck last Saturday at noon and were reared during Sunday. The Ronceverte fire department assisted the Virginia Power and Electric company emoloyees in the work. One-hundred of the lights used were -provided by the National guard local unit; and all the remaining equipment including the lenses and bulbs were purchased by funds raised by the Ronceverte Chamber of Commerce who sponsored the project.

It is said that there is no finer lighted field in the Greenbrier Valley. Bleachers have been provided by the Chamber of Commerce and radio station WRON, and they were painted by the trade school boys of the high school under the supervision of Denzil Liston, high school instructor. WHITE SULPHUR, Oct. 21 Members of the Greenbrier Val-; ley Philatelic club are asking that more issues of the United stamps be made available through the White Sulphur Springs post; office, and have appointed a com-: mittee to arrange for better ser-j vice through the local office if! possible. The club has pointed' out; that considerable revenue is lost; the local office because collectors; are unable to purchase some rent stamps through it. Many of the local stamp collec-j tors and prospective collectors have been unable to secure the recent U.

S- Stamps issued by the Government Post Office at White Sulphur because some have not been distributed through the office. A committee was appointed to discuss this matter with the local postmaster so that all new U. S. issues may be purchased through the White Sulphur branch. It was estimated by the Philatelic members that about S50Q would be added to the revenue of the focal post office in that manner.

The club has announced that the next general meeting of the members will be held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. C. B. Collins on the evening of November 2.
