OF THE DRAMA OLIVER MOROSCO'S SSSSk The Marquis Ellis School has successfully launched three beautiful tenor voices into vaudeville this month Arthur Hill, entertainer, well known to radio fans; Von Gentry, a find of Sid and Andrew Ferris, a former choir singer of the Holy Cross Church of New Tork. On Thursday evening there occurred a very interesting event for Kuth St. Denis and Ted Shawn, famous dancers, when Ellis Rhoadps gave them their first singing lesson. "The dance Is the mother of all personal arts," Miss St Denis said recently, "and contrary to belief, musio grew out of the dance and not the dance out of music. Music was first used as accompaniment to the dance, and the voice carried the first melody." Both Miss St Denis and Mr.

Rhoades believe that singing should be taught to the young dancer and dancing to the young singer. The annual dinner and business meeting of the Ellis Club occurred on Wednesday at the Cafe Mary Louise. The evening's festivities were presided over by Judge Walter Bordwell, for many years the Ellis Club's president, and brief and Interesting remarks reminiscent of the history of the club were rffade by a number of the honorary and retired active members, vlz.
