A. R. LINCOLN, Feb. 23 Judge Frederick Wolff of Omaha was elected president of the Nebraska Sons of American Revolution at the 55th annual state meeting here yesterday. Col.

Harold D. Lamar, Omaha, now serving in Italy, was named senior vice president. The group approved a proposal to arrange for a room in the proposed new state historical society building for the organization. OBITUARY Mrs. Joseph Seal Ellen Ann, daughter of Henry and Sarah (Haigh)) Mellor was born March 12, 1857 at Walnooks, Yorkshire, England and passed away in Beatrice, February 11, 1915 being the time of her death 87 years 10 months.

and 2y days of age. Mrs. Seal spent her girlhood days in England and came to America in 1882. November 27, 1884 she was united in marriage with Joseph Seal at Wakefield, Kansas. To this union four children were born, three of whom survive her.

One daughter, Alice Maude passed away in 1910. They their home on a farm near Wakefield until the death of Mr. Seal on May 8, 1934. At that time she came to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Buchanan of Beatrice.

January 31, 1909, Mrs. Seal was baptized into the of the Evangelical church, placing her membership Mizpah Evangelical church where it has remained throughout the years. These who remain to mourn her departure are: one son, Charles Seal of Wakefield, Kansas; two daughters: Mrs. Mabel E. Buchanan of Beatrice, and Mrs.

Evelyn Gunselman of Oskaloosa, Kansas; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one brother, Henry Mellor and one sister Mrs. M. J. Rodgers, both living in England; and one sister-inlaw, Miss Emma Seal of Wakefield, Kansas. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning February 13, 1945 at the Harman-Johnson funeral home and at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Mizpah.

Evangelical church near Wakefield, Kansas conducted by the Rev. Wayne Greene of the First Christian church Beatrice, assisted by Rev. Weidemeyer of the Mizpah church and Rev. Gilbert of the Industry Evangelical church and burial was made in the Mizpah cemetery. Miss Sarah Jerman Miss Sarah Jerman was born at Elba Center, Knox County, Illinois, July 24, 1873.

With her family she moved to Beatrice in 1880, where she made her home. shafter her for mother's her father death in in 1919, the family home as long as her health permitted. Since April, 1944, she has made her home with her sister, Mrs. C. N.

Winkle, Miss Jerman is survived by three brothers, O. H. of El Reno, Oklahoma, George and Olin of Beatrice; and her one sister, Mrs. Winkle of Beatrice. Services were held in Centenary Methodist church at 2:30 on Monday afternoon, February 12, by Rev.

C. C. Hoyt. Anna Wiebe Anna Wiebe was born August 19, 1873 in Danzig, West Prussia. Her parents were J.

G. Wiebe and Lisette Wiebe, nee Penner. She came to America in 1876. She later attended the public schools in Beatrice. She was baptized by Elder Gerhard Penner in 1890.

She has been in failing health for a number of years. She died quite suddenly Saturday, January 27th in the Mennonite hospital which she had entered shortly before her death. She reached the age of 71 years, 5 months, and 8 days. She leaves to mourn, one sister, Mrs. J.

The Women's Council will nola their Sacrificial Luncheon Thursday at 1:00 o'clock. Miss Zoe Wallin and her committee will have charge ot the serving. TO Circle No. 2 is furnishing the program. The guest speaker will be Miss Harris, our new Educational Director.

Feb. 10. A large number of farmers from this vicinity attended the opening of the Beatrice livestock sales on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs.

Verne Christlieb of Beatrice visited a short time Monday with. Odell relatives. They were enroute to Clay Center, where Mr. Christlieb is employed. Mr.

and Mrs. Arthur Pribyl and daughter Gladys of Wymore were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shalla and family. Mr.

and Mrs. Hal Vance and family of Pawnee City spent Sunday with the former's brother, E. E. Vance and family. Mrs.

Edgar Reimer left Thursday night for Farragut, to visit her husband who is stationed at the naval training station there. Little Joyce Reimer remained with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. O.

Leeper. To California Miss Margaret Maatsch left Thursday, evening for Washington, where she met her cousin, Emma Walters. They will Miss. North Hollywood, to visit an aunt, Mrs. Joe Duitsman.

Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Griswold of Agenda, came Friday to visit their son, C.

A. Griswold and family, and to make the acquaintance of her new granddaughter, Janyce Lynn, born Feb. 9. Mr. Griswold spent the week end here while Mrs.

Griswold remained for a longer visit. Henry Wiemer, who is employed at the ordnance plant at Meade, spent the weekend with his wife and family. Mrs. Russel Kulp left Monday for her home at Birmingham, after spending two weeks with her sister, Mrs. Ruby Callan and son Dick.

Mrs. Pearl Mann of Pawnee City was a Sunday guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ora Kannarr. Mrs.

Mann formerly taught in the local high school. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ochs entertained a number of guests at dinner Sunday in honor of their daughter, Mrs. Claude Burch and Sgt.

of Denver, who are visiting their parents for the first time since their marriage. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ochs of Dayton, Mrs. Elmer Henkle of Belvidere, Joe Boerner, and Mr.

and Mrs. Carl Erickson of Fairbury, Mrs. Anno Walkemeyer daughter Ina, and Austin Gordon of Morrowville, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Caylor and daughters, Evelyn and Donna of Axtell, and the guests of honor.

The Altar Society of St. Mary's church meeting held its Wednesday regular afternoon monthly at the home of Mrs. Frank Dailey. Father Cadek and 11 members were present, Following the regular business meeting a social hour was held. Refreshments were served by Mrs.

Dailey and Mrs. Harvey Blackwood, the assisting hostess. The door prize was won by Mrs. Theodore Kruger. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs.

F. C. Hirmon and each member is to bring a prize for the bingo table. The Missionary society of the Odell Christian church met at the home of Mrs. Fred Bergman for their February meeting.

After the devotionals and business, Mrs. William Zugmier had charge of the program, Several papers were read and discussed. After the licious lunch. hostess, March meeting program the served a dewill be with Mrs. Ora Kannarr.

The Dorcas society of the Christian church met at home of Mrs. Frank Spitsnogle Wednesday. they Two guests, Miss Bonnie Brainard and Mrs. Elsie Acton, were present. In absence of the president, Mrs.

Spitsnogle had charge of the business and devotionals. Mrs. Fred Bergman had charge of the program. Several ladies gave readings. This month heart sisterg exchanged gifts.

The hostess served refreshments. The March meeting will be with Mrs. Ralph Cacek, with Mrs. J. H.

Rosecrans assisting. Complicated, Eh? Wolf von Otterstedt, above, recently commissioned second lieutenant in the U. S. Army at Ft. Knox, is the nephew of a major-general in the German Army; his father was a captain in the German Army in World War his brother serves in the British 8th Army, and his mother is a London Red Cross nurse.

Von Otterstedt, instructor in Tank Gunnery at Ft. Knox, fled Germany after Hitler rose to power.
