Knapp, nephew of Mrs. Frank Korbel of Wilber. has been awarded a second oak leaf cluster in addition to the air medal and one oak leaf cluster previously awarded for meritorious sen-ice in aerial flight over enemy occupied Europe. Knapp is a member of a P-47 Thunderbolt fight group.

Visits Mother Pfc. John M. McGirr. coast guard anti-aircraft, is home visiting his mother, Mrs. Bertha Mc- Gfirr.

He has been stationed at Washington, D. for two years. Paul McGirr has arrived safely overseas, according to word received by his mother, Mrs. Bertha McGirr. He is a turret on a B-27 bomber.

He left the states the last of May. Communications Officer Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brewster have received word from their son, Ensign Bob Brewster, is on duty in the Atlantic. It was the first word received by the Brew- sters from him since he left the United States early in May.
