AT fishing and swimming areas are much too far removed from the camping area. North Bend has lovely scenery in its favor bu not a great deal else. Pipestem as any camper can tell you is one big joke, having obviously been built by someone who had never set up a camper In order to camp there we ended up with our back wheels two feet off the ground.

Conse quently, like most campers, we have been forced to leave th state to find any kind of en joyable camping which offers both facilities and nearby water for fishing or boating. We have time allowing, traveled as- far as Russel Lake in Georgia. Since the ually sing promoters contin the praises Almost Heaven, West Virgi nia" it is disconcerting to say the least to travel to a park and be met with roads resembling what I am sure the wagon trails west must have looked like on the early trips west. What Drogress we have made in the a 100 years or so. Over the past few weeks anc with every good reason, we iave become much embarrasses about being registered as Republicans on the National Level.

After this weekend's experience, it seems the do nothing but talk great system extends to the very low levels in our state government as well. Should you doubt the validity of any statement made lerein, just check with some of the campers who lost muf- lers, tailpipes and even bum- )ers on the Plum Orchard And this being done in one of our nicer state camping areas. We were, I must admit, impressed with the a in duty and after walking ix miles because we dared not ake the car, we found the main very well maintained and iven the toilets were extremely cared for. I understand there are two vays into the Plum Orchard Park, one the Pax-Mossy way and one from Scarbro, but that lie road is almost impassable ioth ways. Can you, or someone with ome bit of authority, possibly it this matter into your so busy busy schedule.

Believe me, it vould be appreciated. Seba Thompson )ies In Hospital WHITESVILLE (RNS) Mrs. Reba Lee Thompson, S3, Whitesville died early Wednesday in a Charleston hospital after a short illness.
