These bergs may become a menace to shipping in the Atlantic.

The iceberg count is a function of the United States Coast Guard. Counting is done to anticipate and forecast ice menace to North Atlantic shipping. Many hundreds of those spotted will disintegrate on the trip before reaching the shipping lane. Danger from the others to ocean vessels is kept at a minimum by the Coast Guard iceberg patrol. Greenland glaciers are responsible for the North Atlantic iceberg menace.

Hogs Spend The Night la Greenbrier River FORT SPRINGS, Nov. 18--Two loads of fat hogs enroute to the Greenbrier Valley auction sale Friday spent Thursday night in two trailers in the middle of the Greenbrier River about a mile above Fort Springs. W. C. Ellis who owns a farm here started the hogs to market late Thursday a trailer being pulled by a tractor and another by a jeep.

Both vehicles bogged down in the river, and the drivers were obliged to wade to shore. I With the coming of darkness the vehicles were abandoned in the river until the following day when workmen were able to get the trailers and hogs out of the river.
