Thursday Blood Typing Clinic Set For Oceana BECKLEY POST-HERALD, BECKLEY, W. WEDNESDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 29,1971 FIFTEEN OCEANA (RNS) Plans were completed at a meeting Saturday evening of Lodge 129, Independent Order Of Odd Fellows, at the Oceana lodge Hall for the Project 129 Blood Typing Clinic, scheduled for The clinic is Sept. 30 at Oceana Town Hall. Hours will be from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Alba Hendricks, chairman, said he and his committee urged all area residents to attend this free clinic and become members of the blood program. The chairman stressed that Project 129 did not have a blood bank. They do have a list of more than 700 persons who have registered with the program and have had their blood typed. The list also carries a medical who have registered. When lodge makes every effort to obtain the needed blood of the desired type.

Hendricks said it is not necessary to be a member of the Oceana IOOF Lodge to get this service but it is necessary to be a member of the Project 129 Blood Program. Hendricks stated that unless the people turn out for this clinic on Sept. 30, it could result in this being the last clinic this year. He said this would be very disastrous as more and more blood is needed and donors are harder to' locate. Mrs.

Helen chairman for the United Fund Drive for Oceana District, and Mrs. Anna Clark Dies; Rites Saturday (RNS) Mrs. Anna Lee Clark, 57, of White Sulphur Springs died at her home Tuesday morning after a long illness. She was born in Floyd, Aug. 12, 1914, a daughter of the late Razes and Ollie Davis Huff.

She attended the Baptist church. Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Georgia Cousin and Mrs. Beatrice Crawford, both of White Sulphur Springs, and Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson of Boston, Mass.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.ra. Saturday in the First Baptist Church at White Sulphur Springs with Rev. Steward H. Frazier and Rev. William Hunter in charge.

Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery Springs. at White Sulphur The body is at the Shanklin Funeral Home and will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service. Friends may call after 10 a.m. today and the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday.

Anniversary Noted ARTIE (RNS) Mrs. Charlie (Martha) Workman celebrated her 78th birthday anniversary Sept. 21. Mrs. Workman is mother of 11 children, two of whom are deceased.

Mrs. Workman is the former Martha a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Cantley of Rock Creek. She has resided in the area since her marriage to Charlie F.

Workman in 1910. Her children are, Dennis of New York, Theron of Glen Daniel, Harl of Rock Creek-, Mrs. Macy Clay of Glen Daniel, Mrs. Marsha Scarbro, Mrs. Reva Crookshanks, Mrs.

Bill (Elsie) Baker of Cocoa, and Mrs. Bill (Maura Mae) Covert of Clarksburg. Funeral sevices were held Tuesday in Naples. Billy Hubbard's Rites Completed CAMP CREEK (RNS) Billy A. Hubbard, 71, died Tuesday in a Princeton hospital after a long ilness.

He was born Aug. 6, 1900 at Camp Crek and was a son of the late Charles and Effie Stovall Hubbard of Camp Creek. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel, in 1946. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors are one brother, Pompie Hubbard of Camp Creek; three sisters, Mrs.

Ira B. (Lessie) Lilly, Mrs. William (Roxie) Sweeney and Mrs. Carl (Reife) Hale, all of Crab Orchard. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.

Lewisburg Children Grow Winter Feed For Birds Each year since 1959, the Lewisburg House and Garden Club, as a Conservation Project, have given children in the elementary grades sun flower seeds to plant and the following year to bring to the school to be judged. This project, started by Mrs. Eugene Dively in 1959, is to encourage children to grow and enjoy the flowers then to feed the seeds to the birds in the winter months. Eighty children out of about 400 participated in this program and the judging was held in the schools Monday morning.

Herold SUMMERSVILLE (RNS) Mrs. Ona Sawyers Herold, 86 of Summersville died Tuesday en route to a Charleston hospital of an apparent heart attack. Born Jan. 18, 1885 at Mt Nebo, she was a daughter the late Sampson and Emerine Wills Sawyers. She was a lifelong resident of Nicholas county, a member of the Sum mersville United Methodist Church and a charter of the Woman's Society of Christian Service.
