E. Phipps, Friday at Catlettesburg, Ky. The bride is a graduate of Fayetteville High School, Beckley lege, and "of Hunter College of New York. She is now serving the WAVES at Patuxent River, with the rating of Yeoman Second Class, She is completing her eighth year in the Navy. Sgt.

Phipps the son of Mrs. Margaret Phipps of Bristol, and is now stationed at Oak Hill. in the Recruiting Service. Prior assignment he served overseas in the Pacific theatre of operations during World War II. MRS.

E. O. MCGINNIS HEADS KINGSTON PTA OAK HILL. May 13 Mrs. E.

McGinnis was elected president of the Kingston Elementary School a Association, following a dinner-meeting at the school May 8. Seventy parents and teachers attended the "pot-luck" dinner held at the school gymnasium, at 7 p.m, and the officers for the coming selected, year. In a Isingle-ring ceremony Miss Faye Cilen Thomas became the bride of A-3c Gerald Price Acord, Fri- Perry Bailey Dies At Oceana Home OCEANA, May 13- Perry Bailey, 84, died at his home in Oce-! ana at 5 a.m. today following a lingering illness. was born May 20, 1868. at Craney, the son of Irvin and Elvira Mandville Bailey. He was married in in in in in in in in in 1894 to Eliza Farmer.

One of the oldest merchants in Wyoming County, he started business in 1893 Craney. He moved business to Occana in 1908. where he continued until the time of his death. He was a member of the West Virginia Merchant's Association and the First Baptist Church, Occana. He is survived by his wife, two sons.

Onnie and Nash Bailey, both of Mullens; two daughters, Minnie Hankins and Mrs. Moral Chambers, both of Occana: a sister, Mrs. Laura Spangler, of Morgantown: nine grandchildren and six -grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church, Oceana. at 2 p.m.

Thursday with the Rev. Wayne Rollins and the Rev. Harry L. Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Oceana Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Warner live on one of the oldest farms in the county. May 13 Rainelle state police officers, Cpl. C. Dawson and Tpr. B. H.

report a series of five traffic accidents during a 12-hour period Saturday. with no serious injuries to persons, but considerable damages vehicles involved. first accident occurred on Route 60 about seven miles west of Rainelle in which the car owned and driven by Perry Joe. Graham of Quinwood, struck the (trailer of a tractor-trailer Persinger belonging to Troy Heaters of and driven Brown. Graham's mother, Mrs.

Pauline Graham a passenger in his car, suffered slight face and head juries. No damages were suffered the tractor-trailer which was loaded with lumber, but Graham's, car suffered severe damage to the. front and left side. After striking the Rose car, Jones' 1940 Ford bounced off and: struck, a Motor truck owned Company by and the Lewis- driven: by Tracy Cecil Hanson of Lewisburg. The worst damage in this mishap was suffered by the Rose car, with slight damages to ones' this accident. The third accident occurred on State Route 20 six miles from Rainelle and involved a car driv-! en by Dorn Fox of Bellwood, which! struck 2 car belonging to Earli Hutsenpiller of East Rainelle. Fox was arrested for having improper registration plates. Considerable: damages were suffered vehicles, Fox narrowly escaped: in a nearby creek in the going mishap.

The fourth accident occurred ati Rupert and involved a transferl truck that carries mail to and a car driven by a Mrs. McMillion of Ronceverte. Mc-: Million, the officers relate, was pulling nut of a service station located in the west end of Rupert when her car and the truck 'tangled' with slight damages to, of the truck. and the truck on the rear of the McMillion car being considerably damaged. No arrests.

The accident that 'plagued' the officers for the day concerned a car and driven by D. J. Harriger of Rupert, which the officers report as sideswiping a car driven by a Cabin Creek soldier. Harriger was traveling west Clintonville mountain at the time. and after he sideswiped the soldiers car, his car went over the mountain for a considerable dis-; tance.

No one was injured in the accident, and no arrests made. Harriger's car was damaged considerably. with only sight damages to the other car. MRS. BAILEY RETURNS FROM SHRINE MEETING EAST RAINELLE.

May 13 Mrs. Thelma Bailey has just returned to her home here after accompanying Miss Zola Trail and Mrs. Hattie Keaton of Hinton to Toronto Canada. where they represented the Stella Montis Shrine No. 9, as delegates to the Supreme Shrine.

Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem. The three delegates joined in Charleston the other delegates and patrol members who took 'a specal coach to the 58th convention which was held at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, May 4-9. They toured the city of Toronto during their visit, and also visited at Niagara Falls enroute home, arriving back to their destinations May 11. Announcement was made that the Supreme White Shrine will convene in Milwaukee, next year. the mobile blood unit was at the Moose Home.

An additional 13 prospective donors were rejected. The bloodmobile visit was sponsored by the Wyoming CounAmerican Legion Post 106 and the Auxiliary with the assistance of the Women of the Moose. Last Meeting Held By Woman's Club RAINELLE. May 13 The Rainelle Woman's Club has held meeting prior to the closing for the summer season. after a successful year of club activities.

The club members decided to continue their calendar project for another year, and a report was made by the membership chairman, Mrs. H. L. Gray, who read a list of eight new members and the names of the sponsoring members. Mrs.

Gray also stated that new membership prospects can still be turned in until the new. year books go to press. The Rainelle Woman's Club now has a membership of 84. Membership dues for the year have been raised from $3. to $5.

per year. and the club is an open memoership organization. The success of the club is evidenced by the treasurer's report that nearly $1,000 has been paid out during the year for various donations and club activities. Also around 100 books have been added to the church library through the club campaign on bock collecting. Among outstanding donations by the club during the past year were to the Raincile band uniform drive, the Cancer Control, and the Amarican Red Cross; and the purchase of a $500.

View Junior High 4 LOIS DARLINGTON ROCK CREEK, May 13 Lois Darlington, of the ninth grade class of the Mt. View Jr. High School has been named valedictorian for the year 1952. She is a member of the 4-H club and secretary of the ninth grade class. She has maintained a 2.81 average for her three years at Mt.

View Jr. High school. Fourteen years old, she is the daughter of Mr: and Mrs. Bill Darlington, of Arnett. Larry Cassell, maintained the second highest average for honor of salutatorian.

He is presiident of the ninth grade class. played the basketball team for two years and has a perfect attendance record for this year. Cassell entered Mt. View Jr. High School from Marsh Fork High School at Montcoal at the beginning of his eighth grade year.

She carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid. The candlelight ceremony was in a setting of bridal wreath and snow ball. Mrs. Barbara Blankenship Anderson wAS the bride's only attendant, attired in a white suit and white flowers. Milton Holstein, Charleston, served the grocm as best man.

Acord is employed at the Wyoming Store of the Red Jacket Coal Company where she will continue until she joins her husband later. He has been here on leave from the Air Force and left Sunday for his new station at Cambridge, Mass. They left o'n their honeymoon immediately following the wed-; ding ceremony. Baptist Men To Be Reorganized At Friday Meet MULLENS. May 13-The Baptist Men's Council will be ganized for the new church year at a dinner and rally scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Friday at the First Baptist Church. Eugene Vest, recently elected by the church to serve as president of the Council, will preside over the meeting which include the election of additional council officers. Guest speaker fon the evening will be State Senator Robert C. Byrd, of Crab Orchard. a Sunday School teacher in the Baptist Church of his home town.
