VA Volunteers Will Be Honored The Beckley Veterans Ad ministration Voluntary Servio (VAVS) organization wi 1 climax its program celebrating the 25th anniversary of VAVJ nationally by presenting awards at the 19th annual VAVS recognition ceremony Thursday at the Beckley VA hospital. The buffet dinner will begin at 6:30 in the VA auditorium A PROSPERITY man, Creed, will receive the Roy top honor during the ceremony -a certificate of faithful service for compiling more than 3,500 hours of volunteer work. Creed, who represents the Disabled American Veterans a Veterans of Foreign Wars, hai worked a total of 3,836 hours. (Post-Herald Photo) Service Slated To Honor Deceased Police Officers Twelve deceased police of- icers, two late mayors and a deceased honorary policeman will be honored in a memorial service Saturday on the lawn in front of Beckley City Hall. The service will be conducted at 2 p.m.

and will be sponsored by Black Diamond Lodge No. 81, Fraternal Order of Police.
