59c RUNNING FOOT NINE Damage Is $900 In 2-Car Wreck A two-vehicle collision 00- at the corner of West Neville Street Ewart Ave. nue at 3 p.m. Wednesday. City police reported that 1970 model truck driven by Robert Graham Trader, 37, of Ridley Park, and a 1972 model car driven by Randolph M. Smiley, 42, of 508 Northwestern collided as the truck was exiting Ewart Avenue onto Neville Street.

No charges were filed and damage was estimated $800 to the Smiley car and $100 to the Trader vehicle. Two County Gis Complete Basic Two area men have completed basic training with the U. S. Army. Pyt.

Glen A. Staples, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Staples jof 307 Massey Beckley, recently completed eight weeks of basic training at the U. S.

Army Training Center, Armor, Ft. Knox, Ky. Private Staples received his training with Company 18th Battalion, 5th Brigade. The private is a 1970 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. His wife, Phyllis, lives at 301 Morris Ave.

Wade of Shady Spring, has completed eight weeks of basic training at Ft. Jackson, S. C. Both men received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, combat tactics, military. courtesy, military justice, army history and traditions.

was the contractor on a project initiated in 1967 to build a model community which would meet the need for housing anticipated because of the opening of new coal mines. The project was launched in a groundbreaking ceremony conducted by former Governor Hulett Smith of Beckley but not developed except for construction of a small number of houses in an area known as the Westwood Addition at Fairdale. Nine lots in Block 1 of the addition on which the houses are built are excepted from the trustees sale to be held Friday. Land for the project was acquired by Franklin Realty a subsidiary of Appalachian Power Co. and the project had the endorsement of Eastern Associated Coal Corp.

Woman's Funeral Services Slated Densie Almond Dangerfield, 67, of Midway Road at Crab Orchard, died early Tuesday in her home. Her body was found Wednesday evening. Born in Crab Orchard, May 13, 1905, she was a daughter of the late H. H. and Nancy Souder Hall.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. B. R. Pitzer and Mrs. Okie Jessup, of Crab Orchard; two brothers, Mont Hall of Jasper, and Harry Hall of Chesapeake, Va.

She was a member of the Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church at Beaver. The body is at Calfee Funeral Home where arrangements are incomplete. Registration Begins Registration is now under way for the vocational sewing classes to begin Dec. 5 in the sewing room of the adult eduction center at the former Teel School. Individuals may register for the sewing classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m.

and 9 p.m. The classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Water does not get in a crocodile's ears because it has flaps which can be closed tight when necessary..
