1-8. Obituary Edward Cummings Edward Cummings, son of John B. and Rebecca Cummings was born in Nemaha, Nebraska, May 10, 1879, and passed away in Omaha, September 20, 1958, at the age of 79. He lived in Nemaha and Richardson counties during his youth, and moved to Liberty in 1903. He lived in and around Liberty until his death.

He was united in marriage to Effie Baker Timmer November 25, 1907. She preceded him in death in February, 1936. To this union two sons and three daughters were born. Herman, who passed away in August 1939, and Glen of Huntington Park, Velma Humphrey of Riverside, Calif. Gladys Vandegrift of Salem, Oregon, and Rudy Guarins, of Omaha.

In addition to these, he leaves to mourn his passing eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, John W. of Humboldt, Arthur, of Shubert and four sisters, Ida Hunt and Cora Shubert of Shubert, Ora Bowman of Stella and Maude Armstrong of Ogalalla, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in the Christian church in Liberty. Rev. E.

It has been customary in former years to present the play two evenings but this year it will be given one night only. The "Old Homestead" Garden Club' met one afternoon with Mrs. Cecil Gorey. The program topic was Election of officers was held. Mrs.

Cecil Gorey was. elected president, Mrs. Raymond Walker; vice president, Mrs Ben Carsten; treasurer and' Mrs. William Chittenden secretary. The next meeting will be the annual Christmas party on Dec.

3 at the Firemens Hall. Mr. Edward Bute went to Hebron where he plans to spend several weeks assisting at the lumber yard there which is operated by his son-in-law, Mr. Joe Berecky.
