TWO BECKIEY NICHOLAS COUNTY NEWS Miss Sybil Jean Champe Is Wed To Edward Miller SUMMERSVILLE, afternoon at the Aug. A Richwood 27 Presbyterian Church with Reverend Roger Rice officiating in the double ring ceremony, Miss Sybil Jean Shampe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. K. B.

Champe of Summersville became the bride of Edward J. Miller, son of Mrs. Winnie Miller and the late Dr. L. Miller of The ceremony was performed before an altar banked with ferns and decorated with white gladioli in standing baskets and lighted tapers in gold candelabra.

The bride ware a ballerina length wedding gown with a white velvet bodice and long sleeves fitted tightly below the elbow. The full skirt and yoke were made of white tulle with a an appliqued design of white velvet extending from the bodice into the skirt and yoke. Her tulle veil was edged in rosepoint lace and held by a beaded tiara. Her arm bouquet was cer.tered with a white orchid, sur- Arnett Church Holds Reunion SUMMERSVILLE, Aug. 27 A large number of former members of the Arnett Church and the community returned there last Sunday for the annual reunion.

GIRL SCOUT MUSICAL SET TUESDAY NIGHT SUMMERSVILLE, Aug. 27 The Summerville Girl Scouts will present the musical play "Nikki" Tuesday evening, August. 29 at 8:00 at the Nicholas County High School auditorium. The two main characters are "Nikki" played by Esther Nell Bailes and "Jeannie" played by Grimes.

Jeannie is ai seven year old child who is given a birthday party and at the party she receives a jack-in-the-box, called "Nikki." After the party Jeannie falls asleep and "Nikki" appears life size and takes her for a ride on the chocolate choo choo to another party in Story Land. This is a thrilling play and the Girl Scouts have worked hard on the entertainment. The proceeds are to be used for the Girl Scout Hut. The cast is composed of the Girl Scouts, Brownie Troop. Intermediate Troops No.

1 and 2, also part of the Drum and Bugle Corps. Tickets may be purchased from any Girl. Scout. RICHWOOD LEGIONAIRES ATTEND STATE MEETING RICHWOOD, Aug. 27 Five delegates from the Richwood chapter, American Legion, are attending the State Legion convention being held this weekend -in Charleston.

They will accompany and Bugle corps who are to take part in the in Charleston during the convention. Representing the post as delegates are John White, Sooner Bashaw, Joseph Berzito, Bill Shelton, Glenzil Faulkner and Floyd McMillion. At Monday night's meeting the post went on record as favoring universal military training according to Floyd McMillion local commander. Mr. Miller asstended West ginia University where he was a member of Sigma Chi social fraternity. He is now associated with radio station WKNA, Charleston. After an undisclosed wedding trip sir. and Mrs.

Hamrick, the daughter, of the late William Dotson and Rebecca Bays Dotson, was born at Summerville and spent her early life here. Death came unexpectedly as she I sat in her chair. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Woodyard, Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Roy Hamrick Toledo, Ohio and Howard of Elizabeth; one brother, William Dotson, of Summerville and three sisters, Miss Laura Dotson Summerville, Mrs. Lola McKinney, of Arlington, Virginia Mrs.

Zorada Goodbar, of Huntington. Kessler Rites Slated Tuesday RICHWOOD, Aug. 27-Funeral Marvin George Kess-1 ler, 25-year-old Richwood miner who died at 10 p.m. Saturday in the Richwood hospital, will be! held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ansted Methodist Church.

Kessler w'as porn at Ansted and was member of the Methodist church. During World War I he served with the 82nd Construction Engineers. He is survived by his father, Marvin W. Kessler of Winfrede; a brother, Kenneth Kessler of Charleston, and a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Ruckman of Montgomery.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Joe E. Brown of Rupert and burial will be in Westlake Cemetery at Ansted. The body will remain at Thomas Funeral Home until one hour before the services. MOOSE BAKE SALE NETS $36 FOR YOUTH NIGHTS RICHWOOD, Aug.

27 The Women of the Moose held a successful bake sale Saturday at the Richwood Furniture store. The proceeds which go to help finthe Youth Night were $36. Chapter night was held on Monday night with Mrs. Glads Kraft in charge of the program which included a comedy skit of the "first day of schol." G. H. Billings, and Miss Jean Simmons. The primary class, taught by Mrs. Stewart and Miss Nancy Lane presented "Blessed sung by a girls quartet consisting of Judy Mikel, Patricia Halstead, Mary Dorsey, and Mildred Chapman.

W. Chiles, principal of the school, requests that 7th and 8th grade pupils of communities other Mount Hope be retained in their rsepective community schools because of emergency arrangements. On Thursday, Aug. 31, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students will report for an assembly and registration in the First Baptist Church of Mount Hope. may purchased Wednesday and Thursday and the students will not report to, school on Friday.

Teachers, however, will report for a study discussion of emergency. conditons, pupils program cards and schedule. All students will report to the First Baptist church on Tuesday, Sept. 5, for important announcements and classwork. According to Chiles every effort is now being made to make provisions to adequately take care of the emergency.
